Not something to be taken lightly, but do-able if you've got access to some sort of lifting equipment and a breaker bar - a windy gun helps too ;) Mysteriously the srs light has now gone out...so not complaining too much there at the moment, had to get a new regulator and motor for the rear...

At last the clutch and slave have been changed...drove it on Wednesday and it felt wonderful...here's some pictures of the last stages; The engine mount that had to come off to free the gearbox- The gear box off - we used a JCB with one chain over the engine lifting eye and a block and tackle...

Hi All, Would anyone happen to know if the battery tray for the TD4 (mine's a 2003) is the same as the 1.8/2.0/v6? Want to double check before buying, can't seem to find many specifically for a TD4 about, so was wondering if they were interchangeable between engine specs. Ta, Phoebe

Once the srs light has come on it needs the ecu replacing (there's a a separate one for the airbag system), mine popped up a few weeks ago and it just stays on now (I didnt have an accident, haven't checked the codes yet), can get a new ecu on fleabay for 10-30£

I got to use an engine parts washer at work which was handy, but soaking it overnight with some cleaning fluid (i think people have used mr muscle...) would do the trick. As it's off it would be worth doing the cylinder head ports too, scrape it out with a screwdriver (try not to let too much...

I once had one of my boost pipes pop off, had no boost and took ages to get up to speed, would be a similar thing if one has split, so worth checking

Thats a thought actually, got all the screws out of the interior and completely forgot about the bumper ones...o_O it had it's wheels off and was sitting in a bit of a bog, the front bumper was off but other than that bodywork was in very good condition, if I'm down there again sometime soon...

*Update* Some of you may have seen my other thread about the knocking on my Freelander, turned out to be shot ARB drop links, split centre prop bearings and split rubber in centre diff mount, prop bearings had to be cut off to remove them... got all that changed for a princley sum of £400...I...

As for the traction control light, maybe just have a go changing the bulb, might be as simple as that, rule out the easy (and less expensive) things first

the hill start assist not working is a common issue - normally its because the wire has come off rather than something more serious, need to take the gear stick apart a bit (not too difficult) to get to the switch and have a look at the wiring there and check the connections, you'll probably...

I had replaced mine in late october/early november and the knocking started late december and got steadily worse, so it shws they dont last at all - not like i was hooning it around too much either, light green laning and the commute to work

Took it to the local land rover specialists and had some news back........ Both ARB drop links have perished (replaced them not too long ago so not overly pleased with the quality - the ones that are on there are bearmach, wont be getting those again...) Propshaft bearing rubber split and...
