Discovery 2 2004 TD5 Landmark rear hub nut torque

Thanks for the reply, Stanley and the pointer to use simple logic over panic. I found the bulletin that shows the torque setting and method for hub reassembly. Why would Land Rover change this and issue a bulletin if it was wrong? Apart from the change of Loctite used the reassembly method is...

Discovery 2 2004 TD5 Landmark rear hub nut torque

following technical bulletin.. (Bulletin N o : 0001 CDS. ref: L8431bu) On Land Rover UK forums. td5 rear hub nut torque thread. Following the poster's suggestions. Thought it was strange but I kept finding the front hub torque and assumed they were possibly different. Looks like I'll have to...

Discovery 2 2004 TD5 Landmark rear hub nut torque

Discovery 2 2004 TD5 Landmark owned from new. I need to find the correct rear hub nut torque setting. Lots of conflicting answers on this question and many quoting the setting for the front hubs (youtube vids). Getting confusing............. I have fitted a new hub unit today to solve an oil...

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 suspension over inflated.

I had pressed the raise button frantically on the way home the other day in a vain attempt to see if it had stuck on. The car has not been unlocked or started since arriving home Wednesday am. When fitting tonight, I disconnected the battery earth lead and then unplugged the sensor with the keys...

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 suspension over inflated.

Fitted a new sensor to the over - inflated side and started the car through the window with the door closed. It took a while but the side affected came down and stopped within a small margin of the other side. Still very high though. Then I noticed the warning light to raise the tail was on, so...

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 suspension over inflated.

Thanks for the replies!! I am still a little worried that after fitting the new sensors (due in tomorrow!) the bag will further inflate..... only it appears to be at limit already. Worrying too much maybe? Hoping it'll work........!! Steve.

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 suspension over inflated.

Thanks for the quick reply, James. I was thinking of slowly deflating the bag manually at the valve block end to get the correct ride height with measurements. Then disconnect battery, remove key and remove and refit a new sensor...... any holes in that approach? Thanks again! Steve.

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 suspension over inflated.

I have a Discovery 2 2004 TD5 Landmark. Round trip of 200 miles today and the added joy of a return journey with the rear offside suspension inflated to full height; nearside normal. No warning lights; car drove as normal with no issues - just leaning. Two years ago I fitted two new suspension...

    Discovery 2 2004 TD5 clutch / brake fluid.

Thanks James! I was surprised that a new cylinder should contain such dirty fluid; don't really trust the garage to warrant the job - they'll just condemn something else to cover it. So I've got a new cylinder due today and a vac bleeder as well. What a great way to spend a sunny weekend...

    Discovery 2 2004 TD5 clutch / brake fluid.

Discovery 2 2004 TD5 clutch / brake fluid. What is the correct type of brake / clutch fluid for this vehicle? Owned from new and nowt been done to the hydraulics except a clutch slave cylinder 3 months ago. Reason for the question - entrusted a garage to fit a new slave cylinder but he convinced...

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 battery/ starting woes.

Oh yeah..... fuse 20 blown! Interior lights and clock now function - radio still dead. Bah! Is there a fuse inline to the radio? Ours is a hi line version with the CD changer. I managed to find a LHD wiring diagram for a 2004 Disco but not sure if it is compatible with RHD. Where are the wiring...

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 battery/ starting woes.

New battery fitted today (Tayna 120 aH 1000cca) and it starts lovely. Thanks for all the help. But..... The interior lights, radio and clock no longer function. Tried everything connection wise; read that the BCU can be affected by battery failure. I have looked at the factory manual but can't...

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 suspension height sensors.

Thanks for the replies - I'm going to pull the battery anyway so no troubles. IMO, it pays to ask the correct method regarding the electrickery fitted to modern cars. Cheers guys, Steve.

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 suspension height sensors.

I'm pretty sure my radio has already lost its coding (see the "battery woes" thread!!) so would disconnecting the battery cause any other issues? I have a brand new battery to swap in so if there are no risks of programming loss with the pcb's then I'll do the sensor while the battery is off the...

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 suspension height sensors.

Fitted one to right O/S and have to fit one to N/S (when it arrives). I read up on precautions to take and there were 3 different opinions; 1) Just swap sensor unit over; 2) Swap sensor unit but do not put the keys in the ignition; (how I did it with battery still connected; seems OK) 3)...

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 battery/ starting woes.

Thanks for that, James! Am I on the right track with the battery failing? I have read several stories of alarms going off when the battery is disconnected (my ex police Disco 1 did this - scared the s*it out of me at 11pm at night.) And tales of electronics/ key fobs failing to work again...

    Discovery 2 TD5 2004 battery/ starting woes.

Right..... changed the air suspension, level sensors and a door lock this weekend followed by the resealing of the sunroofs / dropped and refitted headlining on Monday. All seemed OK but obviously the doors were left open most of the two days. The vehicle wasn't started albeit to test the air...

    Hi all!

Yep, TD5 version. It was one of the last ones available as my wife didn't like the "van" looks of the Disco 3. Previous experience of 4X4's were a Daihatsu 4Trak with the cart springs; interesting but very.... agricultural. Next was the Disco 1 'N' reg ex-Met police 3 door diesel auto. That...
