Thanks for this. The thing that seems most confusing is the fact that the main-beam warning is on all the time, not just on main-beam. I guess I'll strip the switch out and check it all with my multi-meter.

You might consider a set of Event ML698 A/T (same pattern as the BFG A/T) in the 235/70 x 16 size. Excellent value and good to drive with. A full set should cost around £250.

I have been doing this for very many years on a variety of classic cars and find it works well. Before I spray it into enclosed sections I get it quite warm and it really does flow well. One place where I have found this to work well is inside the sills of my classic Minis.

Fitted a set of 235/70 x 16 to my Disco 300Tdi about 3000 miles ago and they are truly excellent, especially when they only cost me £225 fitted and balanced. Very good on gravel and mud and not too noisy on smooth roads. Highly recommended.
