Is it difficult to get conversion approved by DVLA?

I'm just having to do this. When I got the car the engine number on the V5 was different to the engine. The previous owner hadn't bothered to change it. Same type and size of engine, so I sent off the V5 with the right number on. It took them 6 weeks to return it saying thy couldn't change the...

    Classic Engine size check

Is there any where I can check what engine I have? The RRC I am rebuilding was registered as a 3.5 V8 EFI but it is fitted with a carb engine. The engine number is different the the log book so the previous owner has not got it amended. My question is, is the new engine a 3.5 or have they put...

    Rear Axel trail arm mounts

Thanks Paul. I'm new to this game as you might guess. Just got to find a way to get the bolt out now. I think they are stuck in the bushes and the rubbers are spinning.

    Rear Axel trail arm mounts

Just found the mounts on the rear Axel for the trailing arms have holes in and the bolts turn but very stiff and not wanting to come out. Any ideas and advice please. Is it a replacement axel or weldable?

Thanks. For the replies. NGK wise I think they recommend BP5ES and BP6ES for the fuel injection. I'll see if I can find the champion equivalents. Also need to work with LPG.

    Classic I have e a couple of questions please. I am rebuilding a 1988 rrc which has ß7 carbs on a v8. Need p

I think it must have been changed in its life as the log book says EFI. Tried to get it corrected by DVLA but they weren't very helpful. Said I had to get a letter from land rover to confirm it which i cant see how that would work. It had an LPG kit on when I got it which I would like to keep if...

    Classic Brake problem

As a new owner in to Land/Range Rovers and a new member to this thread I am very impressed by the help on hand. Thank you. It is looking master cylinder related so I will strip it down again and double check everything, and failing that a new unit. The servo is rusty at the bottom and to whole...

    RangeRover Classic brakes

Thanks John. It's possible but it is a duel system so I thought the front system would have some pressure. I changed each part one by one copying the original so quite confident it is together okay. I'll prove the master cylinder by isolating of from the pipes and if that works rebleed the whole...

    Classic Brake problem

Okay thanks. The calliper seals look okay in fact the callipers them selves look quite new. The master cylinder seals kit was a Lucas one so I hoped it would be okay. I see what you are saying though. I should be able check the MS by blanking of the ports with bleed screws which was my next idea.
