    Underbody protection for trialling

Thanks for the advice Paul - We have gone for an uprated track rod in the first instance. If we manage to bend that, then we know that we can have a guard made up as you describe.

    Underbody protection for trialling

Hi. Just started trialling in the last few months and need to replace my track rod bar (bent it on a tree stump). I have been advised that a Sumo bar is a good idea, but I have also seen the track rod guard on the Glynn Lewis site (looks pretty robust and likely to prevent any damage/distortion...

    Problem with new LED headlights

Hi Indeed it does. We spent time on Sunday looking at the integrity of the fuses, fuse box, wiring and dim dip replay (or where the relay used to be). In the end, we tracked down a weak connection where we had taken out the dim dip relay, and bridged the connectors. A new piece of wire and two...

    Problem with new LED headlights

Thanks Chilipepper An intermittent fault is the most infuriating! We were at our club's annual TYRO yesterday and the club members were puzzled when I explained the problem (so at least it wasn't just me!). A couple of the guys spent some time ferreting under the dash and bonnet with circuit...

    Problem with new LED headlights

Hi Thanks for the reply. The unit claims 1000 lumen for low beam and 1000 lumen for high beam. It is certainly nice and bright on the road (when working reliably).

    Problem with new LED headlights

Hi Thanks for the reply. Just the dipped beam stops working. The full beam works OK whatever happens. The units are integral (i.e. no external modules, switches, relays, etc). We bought the lights from a stand at the LRO show a few weeks ago. Unbranded make but claims to have the E-mark...

    Problem with new LED headlights

Hi. Thanks for your reply - that's really helpful. Re: flashing the stalk: When I start up and turn on the lights everything is usually OK, but after I have been running a while the dipped beam can go off. If I flash the indicator stalk the full beam comes on but doesn't necessarily mean the...

    Problem with new LED headlights

Hi. We have a defender td5 (with dim dip relay) and have tried to install some new LED headlights. We have removed the fuse for the dim dip (and have removed the pink relay behind the dash and bridged the connectors). Our new LED headlights work for a while, but they cut our either (1) when I...

    Land Rover first timer

Hi We have just purchased our first Landy (an 03 TD5 pickup - formerly a farm vehicle used to round up sheep - with lots of dents, a ton of much underneath, a very dirty interior, but a great chassis, good engine and some sturdy wolf wheels). My son is 14 and has been keen on cars for a while...
