    Suggestions please, loose wire

Thanks for the responses, I thought the fuel pump was under the seat in the fuel tank. I assume you are referring to the horizontal rusty looking item with an electrical connector going to it. I can see no mention of any of this in my Haynes manual and I can't see anything like it advertised...

    Suggestions please, loose wire

Hello, I have a TD4 SE 2004 reg 84K miles. I was checking it over today prior to the MOT and had the rear driver's side wheel off checking the rear brake shoes and noticed a wire hanging down behind the wheel arch cover. I removed the wheel arch cover to expose what you can see in the image...

    TD4 Oil leak

I suppose I am expecting too much of this technology, I had company cars for over 20 years, had them serviced regularly, never ever looked at the engines and never had problems with cars doing up to 40k miles a year. Now I am retired and on my own old habits die hard. :)

    TD4 Oil leak

Thanks for all the advice guys I have removed the rubber pipe which looks a bit suspect and ordered a replacement. My only concern now is that so much oil could be carried in fumes from the crankcase, is that normal? The car doesn't seem to use much oil and there is no evidence of head gasket...

    TD4 Oil leak

Today, for the first time in a month or so, I lifted the bonnet on my 04 reg Freelander TD4 with 51K miles on the clock. I was surprised to see signs of an oil leak. The oil is black so is unlikely to be spillage from the last service. Any suggestions welcome on where to start or whatever, I...

2002 freelander automatic, no reverse gear

I understand that there is a very simple way to screw up the JATCO box. There are two bolts on it that look like drain plug holes to check the oil level, the problem is that if you undo the wrong one a bit falls off inside you lose reverse and the only fix is to strip the box down. This was...

    Broken electric rear window

The rear passenger right hand door electric window mechanism on my 04 freelander has bust. The motor goes OK but various plastic bits seem to have broken such that the window will come down but not up unless I force it by hand. having taken the inner panel off I can see a cable coming out of...

Rear Door trim on a Mk 2

How do I remove the rear door trim on an 04 reg Mk2 TD4 Freelander with electric windows?(one of which has stopped working). My Haynes manual shows the Mark 1 doors and I guess that I need to get the door handle off but as there are no visible screws and I can't see a way in. Thanks

    Strange noise TD4 auto

I have a TD$ SE auto 04 reg with 24k miles on the clock. Some mornings when I drive off there is a noise like a whining noise (not too loud) which lasts about 15 seconds as if something is pumping up or being pressurised. Occasionally during the day it might happen again when pulling away. If...
