The Tropical Station Wagon roof I got didn't have the brackets fitted but I've replaced the rivets holding the brackets onto my existing roof with button head Allen key bolts which are the exact size of the rivets. Now when I change my roof section its only a matter of unbolting the...

Why's my Series 2 on an F plate (1967) when chasis no. states 1961??

Thanks for your reply, I will look into Gaydon heritage museum and I will post some pics soon, just in the middle of fitting a Tropical Station Wagon roof & side panels while keeping the split 'catflap' tailgate. There were no brackets in the new roof for the upper tailgate hinges so I'm...

Thanks, Suppose it would make sense if it was military up to 1967. Anyone know what are the easiest tell-tale signs of an ex-military Series Land Rover? I appreciate the replies I've had and any more that follow!

Why's my Series 2 on an F plate (1967) when chasis no. states 1961??

Thanks very much for replying. Sorry, for some reason I had it in my head you converted from a full rear door / tailgate to a split tailgate? The brackets on mine look to me like they are attached by stud rivets, I'll try and drill out and reattach using button head bolts of the same size...

Hi there, Did you have to fit the tailgates top hinge housing brackets to the roof and if so how? I've just bought a tropical station wagon roof and sides and I want to keep my split tailgate. Many thanks http://i.imgur.com/L5PYyhS.jpg
