    I did put some copaslip on my new brake disc retaining screw threads so it will be easier to remove next time as they where problematic last time i wanted to remove them.

    They but copaslip on there brake discs wow thats insane you are right it is a very very bad idea to put any thing at all on your brake discs especially grease it sounds like they are trying to kill themselves as this would have a very serious effect on there braking performance.

    Many thanks for reply yes all done now as i received my new screws this morning from ebay i brought the high tensile ones and they fit great and thanks i did use some copaslip so hopefully will come of easier next time seems a lot better having the allen key fitment these are the ones i used...

    replaced the 3 diff mounts as i was getting banging noise when changing low gears,but fine now no more banging noise drives great with the new mounts fitted,i did ask at garage for a quote to replace the 3 mounts for me and they told me it would be 4 1/2 hours labour charge but the job only took...

    I will keep a eye on your post to see how you get on with the stc1914 bolts i was looking on ebay and there was an advert on there for stc1914 bolts and they claim that Correct High Tensile Bolt for caliper slides. All Freelander 1 All Discovery 2 P38 Definitely NOT from Britpart...

    What have you done to your Freelander today

    Fitted a new fuel tank cradle as old one had rotted out so purchased one from ebay for£165 as dealer wanted £300 seems very good quality. painted my rear drums black and also fitted some uprated headlight bulbs and side light bulbs.

    Thanks for advice i thought about riveting on a plate just damage is right on the lip were it bends in on the recess and ever were feels so soft and crusty i have applied lots of vactan and painted with hammerite so should be ok for now and i will try to find a replacment tailgate in the long...

    Many thanks for advice on removal now removed i can see this is totaly rotted and a uneconomical repair is a lot more involved than paint repair i did try rubbing down and just big bits of rotted steel fall out so i will be on the look out for a replacement tail gate rot free in 696 paint code.
