Bloody stupid plasitic clips. Not usually a problem when they break, but the clip has an orange bellows type connector, so when you push it on it pushes back out. Any suggestions

In Jag xk8 episode they used a machine designed to de coke the whole fuel system with outstanding results. Cost £70, but they said the service is not readily available at the moment. Any views ?

Put new vcu and prop bearings on and the difference is amazing. The difference is most noteable as I have an auto and the box changes so much better,especially slowing down/lower speed. My advice, if in doubt, change them :D

They say they are LR transmission specialists but don't do oil change on auto box and vcu and bearing change is done by outsider who only works evening and weekend :confused:

Whilst it makes some sense, and it looks better with it on, is carting a big heavy spare around worth while ? I have always taken spares out of my cars and carry a can of tyre weld etc and at worst, breakdown cover will sort it out anyway. If you're trying to improve mpg would not removing this...

Been reading way too much on these. Would taking FL1 off road once in a while help vcu, (use it or lose it thing). If you don't off road would it make more sense to get a recon as they are more free and if so are they still as good as a new one in winter. Given the problems folk are having...

It sounds like the FB but deeper. From the engine area and starts about 30 seconds after starting, lasts about 3-4 seconds. Noticed it on other FL1's I looked at, so I'm assuming it's normal, just curious

Being a newbie to FL 1s, I have now noticed just how many of them there are about, and of all ages. Which either means they are not that bad or as other landies would say, shows how many of us idiots there are about :rolleyes:

Someone on another thread suggested that it's common knowledge on here that you should avoid britparts spares like buying a 1.8 FL. So.....are britparts that bad ???

Now I may be thick but owners handbook seems a bit vague. It says FL has 5 forward gears, having trouble counting 5 in auto. In sports using tiptronic there is only 4. In P4 only 4 obviously) but that would indicate that there are 5 forward. Can an intelligent person clear this up. Also, when...
