In Jag xk8 episode they used a machine designed to de coke the whole fuel system with outstanding results.
Cost £70, but they said the service is not readily available at the moment.
Any views ?

I remember that episode. I assumed they pumped round some fluid similar to the fuel additives you can buy.

Made a big impact on emissions if I remember rightly

Don't think it's terraclean.
Fuel system is hooked up to a fairly chunky machine and two seperate cannisters on the machine feed fluid around the system for about an hour.
Thought the xk8 episode was new.

Ha ha, oh dear you are right. Not my fault, they didn't mention a name.
Behind the times as usual.

Depending on where you are in the country I have a friend who owns a garage who does Terraclean flushes, near Oxford. Dropped in yesterday and they were just flushing out an Alfa Romeo.

I use to use one years ago, it was just a high pressure pump and tank which we connected to the fuel system, pulled the fuse for the vehicle pump and then ran the engine on cleaning fluid. Worked good too.

Sounds a bit like liquimoly diesel purge... Worked well on my 300 when I ran it neat on a can of the stuff..

Yes, I had a UR Quattro at the time with K jetronic, I took the metering head of with all the pipes and injectors and connected it to the machine, opened the flap and watched until all the injectors were spraying as they should.
Being a mechanic was so much eaiser back then.

2012 episode, it said it was a new series
So in 3 years I would expect the technology to be even better.
The hydro carbons went from 500 odd to 5, that's some difference.
Seems a better option than sticking bottles of millers in yer tank.
If I had the spondooleys I'd have it done

I just wasted 5 minutes of my life watching the terraclean sales guy on you tube talk completely out of his arse.
