    L322 quick update

hi guys as some of you may have read on my post a couple of weeks back i had a few cooling system issues, anyhow this was down to a faulty lpg reducer, it was leaking lpg into the cooling system and causing the system to go over pressure & cold heaters. this seems to be a common issue on the...

    L322 cooling system

I did wonder, the rad has been on 5 years and done around 50,000 miles, as I said above I did notice I had to virtually take the drain screw out to get it to drain. Fingers crossed it’s running ok at the moment. I’m planning doing a complete cooling system overhaul after Xmas replacing all the...

    L322 cooling system

well good news today, it's still running warm at 109-112 degrees however, i did think raditor could be an issue as the temp reading was in the low 20's but after the electric stat kicked in the rad temp rose so i'm pretty sure it's ok, although when draining the system yesterday i had to screw...

    L322 head gasket failiure

I’ve got to the bottom of it now I hope, I did have running problem, temp was racing to 132 degrees in less than a miles driving, however I found my lpg receiver was bubbling and spitting out water which of course was letting air in, that was air locking the water getting into the rad. I’ve...

    L322 cooling system

yes i'm aware of the pump if it works it's supposed to help keep the heaters at full temp when idling, however on filling up the 'correct' way is to set heater controls to max then put the fan one one click which should circulate the coolant to the heater, however to complicate mine i have an...

    L322 cooling system

just to update this, i found the top rad hose seeping water last week, i've just replaced it with a genuine hose and refilled the system, however temps were still the same ticking over and now, as soon as i drive it they are hitting close to 130, i'm not fully ruling it out but i think i may...

    L322 head gasket failiure

hi guys so my 4.4 v8 petrol (m62) has decided to throw it's dummy out, it's been running a few degrees hotter the last few weeks, anyhow last week i found the top rad hose seeping water around the clip on connector, so i bought a new genuine pipe and fitted it today, anyway bled the system had...

    L322 cooling system

yes i'm going to monitor it for a few days and see what happens, although it is holding pressure in the system as i get the pressure release when i remove the cap, but i'm not ruling out something leaking whilst hot.

    L322 cooling system

it normally does run 106-108 or down to around 92 if electric part of the stat engaged, but it peaked at 109/110 3 or 4 times thurs, after cruising at 70ish then coming to a stand still in traffic, it was only for a short time and soon came back down but i guess it was just long enough to let...

    L322 cooling system

yes looking at lr cat pre 1a chassis number is a 200 cap everything after has been revised to 140, bit crap though if the car hits 110 and bleeds a little lol
  14. R

    L322 cooling system

Not sure, it was a 160 cap I believe originally and it was revised to 140 to reduce cooling system pressure and reduce the risk of the expansion tank splitting

    L322 cooling system

ok just a quick question for the techies amongst us, 2003 4.4v8 RR, i did a run of about 450 miles on thursday, anyway car ran fine no issues, although monitoring coolant temp it did get to 109/110 degrees a couple of times whilst stood in traffic, anyway did the trip, parked the car up and not...

    L322 Interior paint

i blame the breakers on ebay listing them as e pillars lol, i have found a supplier for plastic paint but they need the RAL code to get a close match. i don't want to buy new, will keep searching.

    L322 Interior paint

bit of a long shot, but my interior panels on the e pillars and around the upper tailgate are scratched up. I really wanted to rub them down & repaint them as most of the used panels are the same. My interior is parchment, is there any paint kits available to do this? I’ve done a google search...

    L322 rusty sills

Yes the guy doing them is highly recommended by my lr indie, he says a day maybe 2 to do the job, so it’s going in towards end of next month as he’s very busy but he’s repaired sills on many l322’s so knows what he’s up against. Not had a quote it’ll be what it’ll be. But I know it will be a...

    L322 rusty sills

Yep they rust, the plastic cover on the sills traps mud & crap which can’t escape and rots the sills, front arches apparently suffer the same, rotting out the brake pipes, that’ll be my next job
