    Door striker pilar loose

Hi chaps, hopefully the photo makes more sense, where my hand is the door seal is split so i know that needs replacing. Its split where the bottom half of the body meets the upper part of the body (hope this is the correct description). If i push on the panel just below the split the panel...

    Door striker pilar loose

Cheers for the replies, I'll try and get a photo tomorrow which might explain it better. Marmaduke - yeah that's the panel and all parts seem to be present and correct including the bracket support.

    Door striker pilar loose

Defender 90, sorry i'm not sure exactly the name of the panel or pillar. its the panel that the door striker attaches to and the movement is at the top where the lower part of the body meets the upper part or the body. Does that help?

    Door striker pilar loose

Sorry forgot to mention, the door seal is split where the pillar moves but I had assumed that the seal isn't what would normally stop it from moving Or is that assumption wrong?

    Door striker pilar loose

looking for some inspiration here, the pillar that the door striker attaches to on the driver door is loose at the top. Not dramatically, but enough that the door needs a good slam to close it. With the door open a good hard push on the pillar and I can see it flex away from the upper part of...

    Smaller wheels to reduce hight

Thanks for the advice i'm working away right now so can't check the wheel \ tyre size but its not modified so standard rims, tyres suspension etc. Think i'll keep an eye out for some crap 15" rims and tyres and try those, cant do rims only as it'll just sink into the drive. incidentally...

    Smaller wheels to reduce hight

Anyone ever fitted smaller wheels and tyres to a defender to reduce its height? I was thinking cheap off eBay Before you think I'm crazy, basically I need to reduce the defenders height by about 3-6 inches to get it into the garage to work on it over the winter. The other option is to either...

    Swivel Pin Bolt Removal

Finally got it off today!, bending the bracket pretty much broke it so new one on the way plus the brake line is pretty much rusted solid so might renew that while I'm in there. What's everyone's opinion on braided brake hoses?

Funny you should mention that walderdhelf, went in for a brew after battling with it for an hour and thought the very same. Even went back out to check the bracket wasn't slotted!.

    Swivel Pin Bolt Removal

Hi Flat, Because of the mounting bracket only the top 1/2 - 2/3 of the bolt is exposed and been pretty chewed up by previous owner. There is not enough space between the bolt and bracket to get a ratchet spanner in between. Plus once refitted it need torquing down so the socket needs to get in...

    Swivel Pin Bolt Removal

Cheers for the reply I tried bending it but was unsure quite how much bending it would take before it was damaged and its more the nut on the end of the line fouling the nut rather than the brake line itself which i couldn't see how any bending would get it out of the way. Seems a bizarre...

    Swivel Pin Bolt Removal

Newbie defender owner so please be gentle :o I've searched around and consulted the gods of Haynes but hoped someone could clarify for me. Attempted to replace drivers side swivel this weekend and fell at the first hurdle. I'm trying to avoid having to bleed the brakes and a lot of guides...
