    Just in case anyone has read this and has the same issue - I got a -4 AN to M12 x 1.5 Male Male Adapter from a local hydraulics supplier today for £3.50 including a Dowty Washer - the Hex is larger but fits in the recess / counterbore in the block perfectly.

    Cheers guys... it's the screws holding the filler hose/pipe cover that are the issue, doesn't look like i can get a spanner on the nuts on the inside of the bodywork without removing the tank...
