    P-Gasket - where did I go wrong?

Sure it is not coming from water pump? I know you said you replaced it, but a trickle from the front area signals a leaking pump sometimes. Try to find exact area of leak.

    Injector Pump Seal Query

Greetings, BOSCH VE pump. I am currently replacing a few seals on the pump which I have on the bench and I have a question about the screw and nut to the rear in the middle of the injector line distribution section. (Highlighted on attached image). Can the two items highlighted be removed...

    Fuel Injector Pump in compression?

All of your points are valid. I understand. The problem is that just 4 months ago I removed the entire front section and timing case to replace the gasket that sits between the rear of the timing case and the engine block. That involved removing the sump as well. I regret not removing the pump...

    Fuel Injector Pump in compression?

Hi to all, In an effort to fix a leak from my injector pump I am at the stage where I am about to gradually back-off the screws on the distributor section of my BOSCH VE injector pump in an effort to replace the o-ring. I understand that the pump should be in compression to do this correctly...

Thrust washers completely missing from transfer box differential

Unless I am mistaken this happens to these washers over time. I stripped mine down 4 years ago and found the same. Given their absence, check to make sure that the gears haven't caused any significant wear on the inner housing of the diff. I got myself some new washers and replaced the center...

    300tdi T-Seal Replacement

I mentioned the front cover housing to explain that since I changed that gasket my underside leaks overall have been reduced by a lot. What this post is really about is the remaining oil leak I have towards the front of the Bell-housing. The oil is definitely not coming from the bell housing...

    300tdi T-Seal Replacement

Oil running down the front face of the bell housing but not coming from the drain hole at the bottom says they need changing. Sump is not to blame as it was recently resealed when I replaced the gasket between the rear of the timing case and the block. Changing that gasket (ERR4860) resulted in...

    300tdi T-Seal Replacement

Greetings, Has anyone ever removed this cap held in place with the two 12-point screws and replaced the T-Seals in situ? I heard a lot about removing the engine and installing the seals with the engine turned up-side down. This is not an option for me at this stage:oops: The attached image (not...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

In an effort to rectify a long overdue oil leak under the 110 I replaced the Front timing cover inner gasket (see below). The one I replaced was in bits. This job is a pretty involved one to be honest... replaced all timing case seals, rocker cover gasket & inlet/exhaust gasket whilst I was at...

    110 A-Frame removal query

Just following up. Removed ball joint bracket without having to jack axle, pressed out worn ball joint quite easily (surprisingly) on a 20ton press. Refitted bracket complete with new ball joint whilst using a bottle-jack as advised to raise the back axle to acheive the desired position for...

    110 A-Frame removal query

Hi to all, Looking to replace the A-Frame ball joint on a 2004 110 (rover axles). Can this be done without having to jack the rear axle up? All of the required nuts and bolts are accessible with all wheels on the ground. Is the reason for jacking the rear axle up to take the load off of the...

Ball Hone size selection - 300tdi

Greetings, Has anyone ever used a ball hone tool to hone a 300tdi cylinder block prior to installation of new piston rings? I understand the tools themselves are sold oversized so I should purchase for the bore size. Would a 3.5" diameter ball hone be adequate? Or would a 3.75" be better...

    16x10 Modulars on a Defender?

This sort of feedback was exactly what I was looking for. My original plan was to go with 285s on 16x8 ET-32. I currently run 265s with ET0. So the 16x8s might be more practical then. Thanks for the replies.

    16x10 Modulars on a Defender?

Greetings to all, Is there anyone who has 16x10 steel modular rims (e.g. tuff torque) on a defender 90/110/130 Do they fit without any major modifications or issues? I had an offset of ET-32 in mind. I was planning on going with this size but would like to hear any experiences before taking...

    Help

Probably best to use some degreaser and wash the entire underside down first then observe before you go chasing leaks. My bet is that the leak is coming from higher up.
