    Another diff lock question

I don't have that sticker in my 2003. Neither do I have the t-box internals, darnit.

Apparently, yes. AIUI a door lock servo works well.

Modify a D1 lever, find a second-hand one from a breaker, search for someone who makes aftermarket versions.

    tc light

All D2s have TC. If there is no light, then it has been disabled - perhaps to hide a fault. Do the ABS and Hill descent (HDC) lights come on with the ignition? Not all D2s had the diff lock lever, although your model year will have the mechanism in the transfer box. You just need to fit the...

    Good news for a change

I've had two years, and 45,000 km of good service out of mine. No problems beyond what you'd expect from a ten year old car, just a normal (for a Land Rover) amount of maintenance.

Hi I'm new and need a little help

Because air bags are much better in almost every way. They give a smoother ride, less road noise and you can select the height - raising with the dash button (or when the car detects you have grounded) and lowering with the optional remote. The only downside is that it is another system to...

Hi I'm new and need a little help

Electronic Air Suspension - wot dem posh gits wiv Range Rovers calls it. To us D2 plebs, it's SLS - self-levelling suspension :) AFAICT, it's fairly simple: Prop up the rear body, remove bags and air lines, install springs. Optionally remove the air pump. The tricky part comes in telling the...

    sluggish towing

My daughters were at boarding school in the Vienne, I know the back roads very well :) And yes, the French Alpine roads do seem to be particularly bad, or maybe that's just in comparison. I suspect the Swiss make their side of the border especially good, just because :D

    sluggish towing

Huh, you should see the French roads next to me! You can instantly tell when you drive over the border, because the smooth Swiss tarmac suddenly changes to rutted and potholed French stuff :)

High lift jack accessory. Can anyone identify??

Jackall are made by Maasdam, which is owned by Pow'r Pull. The latest catalogue on their website does not have this item, so it looks like they no longer make it. Whether someone else does is another question.

They said that about the P38 and the Freelander (which this is, BTW) - yet look at how many of them are used as serious off roaders now.

    Petrol Fuel Burning Heater?

Looks like the business. Where did you put yours?

    Diagnostic tool

Nanocom Evo. Does everything you need, with a nice display with lots of useful information available. Second choice is a Hawkeye, which has a smaller display, doesn't do quite as much as the Nano, but is a lot more robust (IMO) - so first choice if you are a bit ham fisted!

    Petrol Fuel Burning Heater?

Well, sometimes it's cold/humid enough to make the first ten minutes of a journey uncomfortable and a FBH would make sure the system was warmed before the engine starts. I know an electric heater would be cheaper and easier, but as I say she lives outdoors and there is no socket nearby.

    Petrol Fuel Burning Heater?

Was there ever a petrol FBH specified for Disco 2? I've got a V8, and I'd really like to plumb in a heater since our winters can get quite cold, and she lives outdoors with no power nearby. I know there was a diesel version, but I can't find mention of a petrol one. Ta.
