    P38 Range Rover

Think very carefully...... buying a car like a Range Rover can be done relatively cheaply, but day to day running, insurance, maintainance and repair costs can be enormous. We all love our cars, but we are generally the first to admit that a Range Rover can be a deadly expensive and often...

    "Traction Failure" warning

I had a P38 that was hardly ever used and had the same warnings..... the battery died and was replaced and I never had the 'traction failure' issue again. Replace your battery, and neither will you in all probability!

    Window not set problem...

Had a similar experience.... drivers glass would go so far and slow down before sticking and shooting back down with the LCD dash display bleeping 'anti trap off' at me...... new regulator sorted the problem!!!

    damp footwell carpets!

My 2002 P38 4.6 Vogue has decided this morning to drip coolant into the drivers side footwell..... the dreaded heater matrix o rings! I have found a specialist in central london 'Central London 4x4' who have quoted £320 to do the work.... they say that they have done hundreds and can do the work...

    td5 auto g/b, earlier selection??

Mine was much the same........ had the gearbox oil changed and it warms up faster and changes up quicker, and lock up occurs normally without undue delays. Worth trying!

Electronic meltdown and a dead Disco!

My 2001 Discovery V8 ES has utterly disgraced itself once again! I noticed yesterday morning that it felt low on power, it was driving with a big bungi rope attached to the back! When I returned home, parked up and switched off the ignition, the car locked itself, superlocked in fact and would...

    Legal Advice

Having entered into a long drawn out legal battle with a dealer over the sale of a very duff Range Rover needing thousands of pounds worth of repair, I can tell you that essentially trading standards and Consumer watch will actually do very little. You need to write to the dealer and quote 'The...

    4/6 de-catt!

Sounds great, and I want to de-cat mine now! I did de-cat a Saab 9000 3.0V6 a few years ago and it flew afterwards and sounded awesome! My RR Vogue is a 2001 model, is it legal to remove the catalysts?.......

    Discovery 2 V8. Sluggish performance

My 2001 V8 ES was taken into my local service agent yesterday for routine service. They informed me later that they had noticed that the car was a little sluggish (I had not noticed!) and found that when hooked up to a machine (?) the car was recording a drop off when revved and the machine was...

Font brake discs and pads on V8, are they the same as RR?

Are you 'the ten year old kid'? Your unfriendly attitude would suggest so. Never heard of the old saying 'If you have nothing nice to say..... say nothing'?

Font brake discs and pads on V8, are they the same as RR?

I currently own a 2001 RR Vogue 4.6 and have a full boxed set of new discs and pads...... she does not need them. I also own a 2001 Discovery V8 ES, who does need some new front discs and pads. Does anyone know if the RR and Discovery share the same front disc and pad?..... My local garage...

Fan belt or tensioner noise on V8?

Hi everyone My 2001 V8 ES has recently developed a grumbling noise from its serpentine belt. It is not squeeling, and seems to be one of the pulleys or main tensioner that is at fault. It gets louder when the engine warms. Has anyone experienced similar problems, and if so is changing the...

    introducing myself

Thank you! I wish I did not have my fuel bills too, and most definately the repair bills for the Range Rover..... it eats money, and vast amounts of it too! Global warming?...... its a natural occurence. Who do any of us know who survived the last Ice Age?..... Its designed to rid the world...
