UPDATE,: Just thought i'd let you know the progress. I have done the big ends, look as though they had been done very recently, chap that sold me the RR must have done it to try and cover the f*cked crank! Lasted about 10 mins before sounding bad again. So........ I'm going down the replacement...

I am going to see if changing the big ends makes a difference,if not then I will have to sell the old girl as I do not have the workshop/tools/experience/funds to swap out the engine.

How easy/difficult is it to drop another engine in when I have LPG fitted ?

hhhmmm, big ends I can do, if I have to go down the crank grind and oil pump route it's out of my ability, might either have to be a new engine or there may a cheap P38 for sale :(

I have just done an engine flush, put new oil filter and fresh 10w40 semi synthetic oil in, definite low end rumble now so I think big ends, I take it I can do this without having to take off the timing chain cover etc? thanks

Would it be worth replacing the main bearings & big end to see if that fixes it first? Are they easy to replace?

Hi all, Just a quick update, I had the modulator/ECU fitted, faults cleared and she is now running like a dream, no issues or faults at all. Very happy and relieved :D

Hi Saint.V8 I have been in touch with Emmots and they have supplied Modulator and ECU for £150, very happy. Lets just see if that cures the problem. Thanks again for such a quick response :o) Duncan.
