    EGR bolt thread

You’ve probably sorted this now but I did this last weeeknd. I just heated the bolts up with a blowtorch for about 2-3 minutes and they came out easy peasy. They didn’t budge before that even with WD40 on them for a week.

    Full power full beam!

Thanks guys, I have been looking at the nighbreakers. Apparently the white vision by Philips are quite good as well. I'm glad that actually seems to make a difference. At least my lights are wired up correctly!

    Fitting Defender front Diff Guard

Have you actually tried to fit it or is this just speculation at the moment? I bought the exact diff guard two weeks ago and it fitted no problem. Undo the two bolts supplied with the diff guard, no need to undo them fully, just so the guard can expand a bit. I then greased the inside of the...

    Full power full beam!

So a quick question that's come to my mind now that it's dark and miserable whenever I'm driving and I have the Defender's notorious lack of beam power to deal with. What is the definitive way full beam is supposed to work? I have noticed that my full beam is pretty rubbish on a day-to-day basis...

    lets see your GREEN defenders!

Mine's in Epsom green. I think it's been resprayed fairly recently but it sure does come up well when clean, rare as that may be.

    Moto Lita Wheel

I know you pretty much ended this now, but I think your right to go for the flat one from your description. I fitted the dished one at Christmas and whilst I like the position of it (doesn't particularly feel any different from the original), what you will notice is that easy little move I'm...

Terrafirma lift kit with a lean

When I did my Terrafirma ones a couple of weeks ago the driver's side actually had "DS" on it and the passenger side had "PS" after the number so it is unfortunate you didn't have your extra couple of eyes on at the time! Isn't always the case, when you have a 50/50 chance, you always get it wrong!

    Liftless 2 inch lift

I'm almost certain I haven't. Mainly because the dampers are front and rear specific and the rear dampers were packaged within the rear springs and the front ones packaged within the front springs. Also, the front springs were driver/passenger side specific. I do believe the rears were thicker...

    Liftless 2 inch lift

Right, so mine is 522mm floor to sills at the front and 610mm to the sills at the rear. If yours is 610mm at the front Luigi, then it looks like my front springs could be wrong. My rear ones would seem correct but I guess you can't really see a 2" lift on a truck bed as it's still lower than the...

    Liftless 2 inch lift

This is all good information guys. Thanks a lot. My 130 also has a spring within a spring Lurch, I don't know if that's normal or a special vehicles addition. I think you may be right bluedog333, it just seems strange as the description said 2" lift with winch and winch bumper plus 200kg in the...

    Liftless 2 inch lift

Well you did well there, assuming that's what you wanted. Do you happen to know what height you're at now? That would be very interesting.

    Liftless 2 inch lift

That's not a bad call td5landy, although it seems weird that nobody seems to be at the height of a 'standard defender'. That is one hell of a difference James! I guess I will be sending them an email tonight then to see what has happened.

    Liftless 2 inch lift

Thanks guys, I was measuring from the ground up to the highest point I could find. I take your point about being specific to the 130 but on Terrafirma's website there are two choices, one for the 90 and then one for the 110/130 so I presume they are the same. I don't think the 130 is much...

    Liftless 2 inch lift

Right, so I just spent the whole weekend in the freezing cold changing all the suspension on my Defender 130 from standard to Terrafirma's 2 inch medium duty lift kit but I'm not sure they sent me the right springs! It's all gone together fine but I'm almost convinced I have no lift at all. I...

    Defender 130 canopy purchase

That is exactly what I want! Thanks Paul, now I just need to find the poles.

    Defender 130 canopy purchase

Not quite. I managed, with limited success, to make one of those from a garden table cover as I didn't fancy spending £300 on a sheet of tarpaulin. I was looking for one of these. Far more elusive it would seem...

Moto Lita steering wheel boss thread length

No problem mate, I gave mine a fair whack and it went nowhere so I thought I'd just call them and see. I got mine directly from Moto-Lita so unfortunately I didn't have the luxury of MUD doing the research for me! Fingers crossed there are actually two types of boss and I do get this sorted!

Moto Lita steering wheel boss thread length

Just in case anyone needs this information in the future, I called up Moto-Lita and they said the B45 boss (needed for my 1998 Defender) comes in a deep taper and standard taper. They sent me the standard taper but it appears a deep taper is required. I have sent my boss back and will tell of my...

    Defender 130 canopy purchase

This wet weather has really made me miss not having a cover over the bed of my 130. I have a Truckman but it sits above the roofline and is quite frankly the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Does anybody know who makes or where I could buy a canvas cover like what I assume is supposed to come...

Moto Lita steering wheel boss thread length

Ahh I see, thanks. It looks as though it can't go down any further but I will torque it up some more and see what happens.
