    Val D'Isere, Croisiere Blanche, etc...

Apparently we were disturbing some nesting owl or something. Didnt seem to mind several million skiers, but the turbo whine from a 300tdi was the final straw for it. Gutted that we never got the chance to do the event again.

    Val D'Isere, Croisiere Blanche, etc...

Croisiere Blanche was a brilliant "friendly" rally that ended in 2009. It took place around.orcieres . Here is a video of the year we did it: Croisiere Blanche 2009 - Video. (warning:posh accents, mild swearing, poor attempts at humor and amateur camera work) It was finished off by the...

    VCU check

Got as paranoid as you so have just changed mine pre-emptively at 70K. Felt it was getting a little stiff although by no means seized. You can get a recon from Bell Engineering for £200 (with 12 month guarantee).....which is a lot cheaper than waiting for it to tighten fully and take out the...

Coolant Level Sensor - what to fit?

Scuppered by the dark at the moment. Had it wired up to battery in garage, seems to work fine in vertical position. Using small size blade connectors on the plug pins as I don't have the fancy main plug. Aiming to plumb it in this week and attach my Maplin buzzer to it if I can get home early...

Getting a wire into cabin from engine bay

Oooo, sounds like a plan, Tony. Will whip the fuse box off tomorrow and have a look. Can you remember where the exit from the grommet is in the passenger compartment? I presume behind the grab handle area, or does it appear in footwell?

Getting a wire into cabin from engine bay

Sorry, need to update my signature. Its the good lady's Freelander 1.8S MY01. Managed to push miles of spaghetti through bulk head in 110, Freelander another matter altogether....sound proofing, fire proofing, no rust....all new to me.

Getting a wire into cabin from engine bay

Before I start removing loads of trim, any suggestions as to best place to run wiring between engine bay and cabin? Is there a convenient hole/grommet somewhere to poke through? No hole obvious without removing bits in engine bay. Not bothered which side! ( ....(Haven't had so much...

Coolant Level Sensor - what to fit?

Ok, got one of these fellas to fit as a low coolant sensor PCF500060: Got no instructions. Has anyone got a photo of one of these installed? I presume it fits this was up (i.e. vertical) in the header tank outlet, but at what height is the top placed at. Just below the low coolant line or...

    Scotland offroad venues

I'm a member. Nice site, although not huge. Some amusingly deep water (personally been involved with the drowning of two 90's) and fun steep climbs. Club house with coffee, jet wash, rescue ranger and loo too! Biggest downside is that you have to pay for yearly membership rather than on the day.

Coolant Level Sensor - what to fit?

Sorry MHM, I meant do you know how the LR OEM one attaches (this one PDA500360?? as I an't find any piccies. Thanks for the float info although I don't really want to drill the tank as mine is almost spherical and am worried about leaks under pressure.

Coolant Level Sensor - what to fit?

Was wanting to fit an inexpensive coolant level senser to the Good Lady's 1.8 Time Bomb (Freelander 1 2000). Looking for an inexpensive solution (i.e not a Brown and Gammons £90 job if possible) that doesn;t involve holes in the tank. Has anyone fitted one of these (whatever it is)...
