    Rear Brakes

All, My disco 2 with about 110k miles on clock has been making strange noises from the rear from time to time recently. Having just checked round I've just spotted there is no pad on the outside / off side and the disc face is nothing like as smooth as those on the other wheels. I clearly need...

Disco 2 Replacing Rear Wiper Arm

Hello, my rear wiper arm broke at the weekend, it's currently just staying on with the washer pipe. Replacements are ordered, they appear to come with a new washer pipe, but my query is said pipe - do I need to strip the read door lining to find the joiner, I can't see one on the exterior :(...

Disco 2 Td5 Auto Difficult to start

Hello Thanks for your reply. I'm not charging the battery every night, just the night before I need to use the disco as I know I'll be using lots of umpf through the starter circuit! I'll check that circuit.

Disco 2 Td5 Auto Difficult to start

PS so far it has eventually started and will then be fine if it's used each day.

Disco 2 Td5 Auto Difficult to start

Hello all. My new (to me) discovery 2 Td5 automatic is very difficult to start when it's been sitting for a few days. I freshly charge the battery overnight, turn the key to on, wait for most of the lights to go off, then turn the key to the start position and it just clunks. I've video'd the...

    Disco 1 UJ size?

Having had a nasty rumble over about 20mph I was advised to replace the UJs on my front prop shaft. It came off easily enough but I was unable to get the existing UJs off using my basic tool set up so handed the whole shaft to a local garage together with the OEM parts I'd sourced from Rimmers...

Series 3 Door Top - done

Just completed fitting my new passenger side door top, recovered the glass from the old one and built up from scratch. Very satisfying :) Before... After...

    Disco 1 Bonnet Alarm Switch

Apparently those two loud beeps every time I set the alarm on my 300Tdi mean there is a door open, I'd assumed they mean all is ok :-o The bonnet sensor is loose in the engine bay, can anyone tell me how I can fudge the wiring so the alarm thinks the bonnet is shut? Thanks in advance

    Disco 1 300tdi Dashboard Switches

Many thanks, I was wondering if I'd lost my touch ;-)

    Disco 1 300tdi Dashboard Switches

I've bought some second hand switches that I'd like to use with some LED lights on my disco, I want to put them under the clock where the front fog light switch sits between two blanks. The switches I'm playing with were originally for the rear fog lamp and the heated rear window. I think I've...

    CCV Fuel Tank questions

I've fitted the one linked below, have only had the vehicle out once since then and that was on a simple off-road course, not a CCV but seems fine (first CCV outing is on Sunday!), my V8 is an EFi, not carbed though...

Steering Arm to Drag Link ball joint boot

MOT not a problem for the trailer ;-), interesting about the boot only replacement, I had to buy a whole new ball joint kit last year just to get the spring band that goes round the bottom edge!

Steering Arm to Drag Link ball joint boot

Thank you. I guess the idea is that the boot moves with the steering arm / socket and not with the drag link / ball?

Steering Arm to Drag Link ball joint boot

All, I replaced the steering arm to drag link ball joint on my Range Rover based trialer less than a year ago, the boot has already deteriorated to the point that it urgently needs changing :( I'm wondering if I did somehting to cause this by the way I fitted it (my first time)? Maybe I've used...

    Refilling Swivel Hubs with EP90

Thank to you both - a beginners error!

    Refilling Swivel Hubs with EP90

I'm told the front axle of my trialer came from a 110 defender (much of the rest came from a Range Rover), I've drained the oil from the swivel hubs and have tried to refill using my oil syringe but it's plastic pipe almost fills the level hole (square headed plug in the attached picture) which...

Series 3 Who made this wheel?

Hmmm, I really hope they're not pop rivets!

Series 3 Who made this wheel?

or perhaps more importantly where can I get another one from? My new (to me) Series 3 has these on the hubs fitted with 235/85R16 tyres but the spare looks like a standard wheel fitted with a 205 R 16 tyre, want to get the spare to be the same as the others. Thanks in advance. Richard
