    The Saga continues...

LOL - no I paid £1000 for an R reg with a relatively newly replaced engine and gearbox. When I had been looking before, somewhere between £2500-£3000 seemed to be what people were asking. The car was in a wee corner of Scotland so not getting as much interest asif it was in the Midlands for instance

    The Saga continues...

So in the 3 weeks I have owned my "new" rangie, it has been in the garage as much as out. We have replaced the Viscous Coupling/Fan, Replaced the battery, replaced the water pump and belts, and had an EAS fault reset. When I changed the battery, the locks/remote locking would not reset, so in...

    Front arm rest

There is info in the workshop manual about removal of the armreast I think. Mine is quite loose when leaned on, so I need to look into this too.

    Gas strut install.

That's the thing, the car was a bargain. We have had to spend some money on it. and there is more to do. the way I look at it. it's more affordable to buy the car for less and spend the money doing the bits and pieces.

    Gas strut install.

First DIY job done on the Rangie. (Been to the gge a couple of times, but this is the first DIY) A small thing I know, £8.99 worth of parts, 15 minutes of my time (with my son holding up the tailgate rather grudgingly) but a job well done I feel and will make getting the dogs in and out a lot...

    P38 Won't go up Hills.....

I know this is probably not the issue but... I had exactly the same issue, was a vac hose that has become disconnected, mech fixed and voilà, still not the most powerful car I have driver but 50% better

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Locking Issues.. and an update on ownership.

Well - She is back - The water pump is replaced - the new metal impeller is doing it's job nicely (can hear the fan going) AND...... the mech notice that there was a vac hose off and this is why car was down on power - the difference is very apparent. still a bit slower than I want her to be...

Locking Issues.. and an update on ownership.

Well, and upate on the update. Apparently the temp spike has damaged the water pump seal, and got out of the office to a pool of coolant under the car. So it's back in the gge, will get a new water pump tomorrow. The other issue is that it seems to have developed an EAS fault while in the gge...

Locking Issues.. and an update on ownership.

So. I have just gotten my Rangie back from the garage. I was driving to work on Friday and the temp spiked. Straight into the garage next to my office. The viscous coupling for the cooling fan was fooked - so that was replaced and the overheating has been resolved. While it was in, I asked...

    Next Question - Front Windows

As I have said before, trade off for bargain price of my Rangie is a few issues, next on the list is the front windows. Pass Side Window- Shows as not set and when closed, makes a loud grinding/clicking noise and the motor doesn't stop. It opens, it closes it just doesn't stop and shows as...

    Evolution Chip.. Experiences?

So I have had my 2.5DT since Friday night and have decided that I love it, but.. it's underpowered. fine(ish) on the flat but needs more oomph for the hills on my journey to work... So.. The garage around the corner (we do their printing and uniform) was at our trade counter and spotted my...

    Hi from SW Scotland.

Just checking in. Went to collect my "new" 1997P Range Rover 2.5DT on Friday. Needs some bits and pieces doing but all in all not a bad bit of kit. I had a 4.0HSE about 9 years ago, I loved that car and sold it to move in with my (now) wife, at the time she promised me a replacement.. and...
