Hi, he'd definitely like a steptroninc, his current car is a 530 with it, I have a 320d with it too. I've been looking at the TD4s but they don't seem to have it, seems odd.

He has a bad back and normally drives autos, he just wasn't sure of the combination of 4wd and auto.

Posting on behalf of my dad, he's looking at getting a Freelander but is unsure whether to go for an auto or manual. It'll be the TD4, aside from the auto being slightly heavier on fuel what are the advantages/disadvantages of both?

Yes that's why you can't actually buy the proper NATO paint anymore, the stuff you see are other peoples copies. You can get the original stuff from 1 or 2 suppliers but it is expensive compared to them. Anchor Supplies sell it in 5 litres tins, should be enough to paint it several times over!

My 90 will soon be ready for painting and my co owner wants it to be done in desert colours. I'm fine with this, it is an ex military radio vehicle after all, I just wanted to get an idea of what it will look like. See plenty with the green and black but very rare to see a desert coloured one...

I bought my 200TDi lump with 78k on it for £400, best thing was it didn't need delivering as it came with a Discovery attached. Plenty to be had for sensible money if you are prepared to travel before resorting to that hateful lump.
