Just rewired it. Ended up soldering since kept dropping bullet conectors. Turns out: BLACK = BLACK BLUE = RED WHITE = YELLOW.

Possibly new mechanics? Since same old owner and over the years always been great service until recently. This is the plug they fitted so which wires do I need to swap over?

Wouldn't mind if it was a one off but this is the 3rd cock up from my trusted garage that I've used for years in the past 6 months so time to try somewhere new I think. I'll have a go at switching the wires over tomorrow in the light with bullet connectors since my soldering isn't great.

Mystery solved. Bought contact clean and changed bulbs over then after giving up put the car away to notice the idiots in the garage have wired it wrong so the drivers side is on full beam when dipped and dipped when full beam should be on. :mad: Yet another cock up from my regular garage.

Both bulbs changed at the same time. I'll swap the bulbs over and get some contact cleaner on the passenger contacts to see if it makes a difference.

Yep checked the passenger side. Will swap the bulbs over at the weekend to see if it makes a difference. Mind you looks like they have put the headlight alignment out as well which doesn't help.

I recently had the drivers side headlight bulb plug connector replaced since it kept cutting out. Now it seems Majorly brighter than the original Passenger side. I presume this is due to it getting more power from clean contacts? If that's the case can you clean the plug connectors so they...

I was going to ask the same. What benefit are they since when I did take the FL off road I got a stone stuck in the calliper so they don't work as stone guards also was told they are a MOT fail without them?

Fitted new fuel pump so now have a working fuel gauge again.

Just got Freelander back from garages and they fitted the newer door lock but the dash lights constantly say the door is open and the internal lights wont go out (now pulled the fuse) and the alarm wont go on but the doors at least lock. Any idea how to fix this or should I just get them...

Yep had a look there first but no luck. Probably an obvious question to the more mechanically minded but can I loosen off the subframe bolts with the car just on ramps or will I need to have it jacked up on axle stands and the wheels off?

So No point getting it changed and the drive shaft checked yet then. I'll have to get under the car again and see if I can undo the bolts to look under them.

I'm wondering since it has a leaking diff would a worn half shaft give similar symptoms as described if it isn't the sub frame bolt?
