B F Goodrich on deep dish alloys

Quick question. .. has anyone stuck bfg at ko2 285 75 16 on deep dish alloys? Spec sheet says they need at least 7.5 inch rims, and the deep dish is 7", I have 255s on at the moment, with no probs, but was going to go bigger. Will be running them on a disco 1 with 4"lift.

Disco 1 Diff Light extra switch??...

LOL, yeah, could be anything really I guess.. dont really need it, as I know the diff works, and would soon realize if I had left it on when she carried on straight at the first roundabout I get to lol, gonna use the switch for my airhorn anyway. Everyone needs Dixie airhorn

Disco 1 Diff Light extra switch??...

not sure whether the switch on the box works, guess not, as the toggle switch puts on/off the light whether in lock or not.. I just thought that it seems as much hassle wiring in a new switch as replacing the sender, when you have already pulled the car half to bits!, thanks for your thoughts tho...

Disco 1 Diff Light extra switch??...

hi folks, Just wondered whether anyone else had seen this, and why?? My 300tdi has had several mods by a previous owner, all done well, all extra wiring, reverse warning kit!, cb/ roof lights etc, where all wiring etc has been well hidden and all other mods inc 4"lift, winch bumper, any welding...

To lift, on not to lift?...

Right folks, Disco 300tdi ES Auto, last MOT advisory was light misting of oil from rear shocks, and lately have heard the occasional knock from the rear end, so suspect shocks need replacing. I just wondered when I come to replace these, is it much more hassle to replace the springs too, is...

    300tdi still having starting issues!

Lol, no did it all over a few months, and put up with easy start when I needed to fire her up.. As for 'good', I don't know, but I don't feel mine is too bad, she has done 220,000 now, but never misses a beat(once started...!) and still has good power. Okay, the boot floor is rusted through...

    300tdi still having starting issues!

..Just a quick update.... after being advised by a mechanic that it was definately a fuel starvation issue for not starting I replaced all fuel lines, leak off pipes, new lift pump, new fuel shut off solenoid, removed in line filter, replaced fuel filter, fitted a one way valve in engine bay...

    300tdi still having starting issues!

    300tdi still having starting issues!

cool... that might be the way forward then, just carry a set of ramps with me, and reverse her onto them at night, save all this hassle :clap2:

    300tdi still having starting issues!

yeah, it will crank almost forever in the morning before firing, the only reason I had stayed away from the solenoid before now, is the fact that she starts good when warm, so always put it down to fuel...( and the fact that first time it happened, the AA man used easy start and jumped it, and...

    300tdi still having starting issues!

Cheers folks.. I have more tubing so will re do the leak offs again, just to be sure! She had sat for about 4 hours this afternoon and had to crank her over for a good 30 seconds, which has not happened before so might be getting worse.. will have to keep an eye in it.

    300tdi still having starting issues!

    300tdi still having starting issues!

Cheers for that.. I have bunged up the steel with silicone sealant, and then replaced the pipe from the tank to the pump, so was hoping I have eliminated this... I think the rest of which you mentioned is OK, however have not tested the injectors, I hoped having the one way valve inserted...

    300tdi still having starting issues!

Hi again I started a thread on this some time back, my 300tdi refuses to start every single morning. Fuel seemed the obvious issue, or more the ingress of air into the fuel system overnight. She will turn over strongly, but just not fire. If I squirt some easystart into the airbox, she...

    Starting woes.. glowplug inline fuse??

think I will just replace the whole damn lines, got to be worth a shot, and only about £20 off Ebay... just noticed while playing around under the bonnet though, that the glowplug behind the A/C pump has come in two.. the element has came out, leaving the threaded part still in the block. I...

    Starting woes.. glowplug inline fuse??

Cheers, Removed the sedimentor, as someone previous to me had already rounded the bolt on top!, yesterday I replaced the lift pump and was really looking forward to firing her up no probs today, but no joy, still as bad.. back out now to have another go

    Starting woes.. glowplug inline fuse??

cheers for that.. I have had my suspicions about the lift pump, as I cant get the manual lift lever to work, last time I changed the filter I just cranked her over to self bleed, but there is none of the side effects described on here for a failed pump ie the lack or loss of power etc, as she...

    Starting woes.. glowplug inline fuse??

further investigation, at the fuel filter has me more baffled... I fired her up, and opened the bleed screw on the filter housing, and nothing comes out, tried revving the engine, but stalled.. had to close bleed screw and turn her over to get her to fire up again.. can't find any threads with...

    Starting woes.. glowplug inline fuse??

cheers for that.. I agree, I still think that air seeping in is the culprit, so need to trace this, as she is a real pain to start, relying heavily on the fact I have a bloody good battery! As for the fusible links, does the glowplug circuit piggyback off another circuit, as they are all...

    Starting woes.. glowplug inline fuse??

thanks for the quick response.. when checking the leak off pipes the other day iI found they were right offs, all of them, so I have replaced with 8mm fuel pipe and jubilee clips, until the correct size pipe comes home, as I don't rate the temporary job I have done, so don't really know if this...
