Death wobble - Let the fun begin!

urgh, I had this earlier in the year after fitting some poor quality parts. Didn't even know what death wobble was until it struck on a fast moving rush hour M62 in the middle lane. Thought a wheel was coming off! now fixed, but confidence totally ruined. Hope it's not too expensive too fix. I...

    new track rod ends rusty?

Well yea. I just wasn't sure if they come with some kind of lacquer on them as the picture of them fitted was as is. Never mind, every day is a school day I'll rub it off and paint em tomorrow. Wouldn't you think they'd paint em before sale?

    new track rod ends rusty?

Just doing some of my mot failures and noticed the track rod ends I fitted a month ago are turning orange already... is this normal? The thread is fine, just the area surrounding the grease nipple.

    rear shock absorber help replacing

I'm completely clueless. Where do I put axle stands? I put them under the axle whilst I loosened (snapped) the bolts but it says put stands on chassis and take axle weight with jack but my stands won't reach anywhere on chassis. :( pics appreciated. As you can see I'm not having a good day.

Bad day at MOT Centre :-(

I wish that was all that was on my MOT failure :(. I did my track rod and drag link before I took it too lol. I bought a ball joint splitter which was utter ****e and broke under some pressure. Big hammer and a few exploratory taps (egh em) and popped out no problem. Good luck with the other...

    "heavy duty" steering arms

So I changed both easily enough and it drives OK, however It now seems to take longer for the steering wheel to straighten up after I've made a turn on full lock. Could this be the new (cheap) steering damper I have fitted ? "Pro comp ES2000" or have I done something wrong ? I always find it...

    "heavy duty" steering arms

I'm a complete amateur. I'm just fitting new tracking arm and drag link. Is it right to just have 1 nut either end keeping the bar from turning? I'm writing this on my phone so I hope the image attaches ok.

    ticking noise

Just to complete this thread I finished replacing the gaskets and job's a good 'un. Definitely a job a near total novice can do but good tools are essential. Took me 2 days. I spent way to long reading the step by step guide in the service manual but it's best to be safe I suppose! I've been...
