Is the fuel pump on a 2000my L Series coded to the engine or can it just be swapped out? There is a block at the back of the pump with wires connected to it, and I have been told that this is either the immobiliser or the advance retard solenoid. Any info gratefully recieved.

Hoping for a few pointers as I'm now at the end of my knowledge. 2000 L series diesel Just had engine rebuilt after cam belt snapped :( Cold start has to crank the engine over quite a few times before she kicks Warm start no problems, half a turn of the engine and she's good to go...
