What are front wheel bearings like to do on a Freelander 1

Been told you can use the head bolts on a disco 300 tdi upto 5 times has anyone else heard this as supposed to be in the Haynes manual... But I'm not so sure.....

Any ideas what would cause another valve spring to break on my 300 tdi discovery this time it's a different cylinder. As can't understand why another has broken only reason I can think of is head I had that was supposed to be good has got bent valves.... Thanks for any advice or ideas in advance
