Ah right no then all I was changing was the plastic piece the ball sits in as it was none existent how deep can the ball go as you said use an extendable magnet but obviously the gears are in the way thanks again

Hi thanks for your reply it had no well hardly any yoke to remove as it was worn away so there was nothing holding the ball in place also the clip is missing in action so who knows where that has gone too

Hi all can anyone please help I've had a problem with my gearstick being really loose so spoke to a few people and they told me it was the yoke so I ordered one it came today so I took on the task of changing it myself only to knock the ball off the end of the gearstick into the gearbox so...

Right got ya no I never is it hard and is there any thing that may cause me an issue in either removing the top or putting it back together and as for the grub screw where would that be situated and what should this do oh and thanks for all your time

Well it was fine until my friend borrowed it then it came back sloppy and struggling to find 5th and reverse so I had a look on here and came to the conclusion it was the bias plate but it has made a great difference and I can find all gears they are a bit awkward to go down the box but I just...

I thought it was only side to side and yes it's tight down but what else could make the gear lever feel so sloppy as I don't really know much about discovery's I only changed the bias plate as a friend told me it would be easy

Not really there is a couple of wear marks but not much but it quite sloppy going forward and backwards not side to side
