Just a quick question, who takes their hippo off-roading/laning? And can I see some pics? :p

Would it not be simpler to put a flap/cover on it? On switches we don't want to push on reasonably stable things, we put a shaving foam cap. Surely you could fashion something up on a hinge for the landy?

Water in clutch? And the rust is rubbing just right at around 50?

I've got a paddocks one and love it. Been towed from it. Done some quite serious recovery from it (even managed to snap a towing strap) and its taken its fair share of knocks too. A little distorted but still going strong!

And more... Highlights of the day include going across ground that looked solid and getting stuck up to the axles. Rescuers coming and them getting stuck. In total 6 people and a tratter getting stuck. So we got out of it by stuck people winching out other stuck people. Great fun. Number...

Well for a front recovery point you could get a simple steering guard with towing eyes, or a JATE ring. About £40 and £15 respectively.

Been looking around today, randomly, and this is what it says about detroit lockers... So does this mean it stops the diff being locked when it goes around corners? And how does that work? I'm confused. lil-landy

Tank guard? Just measure your tank, and make it big enough so you can bolt it to the rear (dumb irons?) of the chassis.

By the way, if the police aren't doing anything. Go stand outside the house, ring 999 and say you went around to ask politly for the landy back, and he pulled a gun. They'll be there in minutes.

Sean, you do have a point. Not sure I'm with you 100% though. It does sound pretty genuine. But in some of the posts, it starts to seem a little strange. I reckon theres a 55% chance of genuine. 40% chance of a member winding us up. And a 5% chance of just been a troll

A thought it came with rear flaps as standard? And not front ones? And I've got my new numberplate, just gotta get my mudflaps and brackets now.

I'll be getting some new ones, eventually. But its cheaper for me to pick them up from paddocks rather than have them delivered. So it just means that I can go pick them up, instead of waiting and paying extra for delivery.

Now now, Brits don't have a good reputation in the Iranian Embassy.
