sound like a 200tdi (2.5) being on a lt77 and all. as you have a galv chassis you can't really go too far wrong...:) ah just seen the right side snorkel...Hmm.

I've got 35's on mine and have no probs with ratio's (except the speedo is about -10mph out now). It's a 200tdi. That said I have a standard 1.4 defender transfer box so not sure how it would pull if I changed it for a 1.2 disco unit. The transfer box is where you would change your ratio's...

I've just fitted a replacement 200tdi into my defender. It was a real nice ex disco unit with less than 60k done and cost me £350. It didn't take too much ebay patience to find it plus it had the disco turbo which i didn't need. You will want to split the engine from the gearbox at the bell...

So they'd be the same size as 33 x 10.50 ? (or a tiny bit bigger).

Ok I've sort of asked this before. I want to start green laning etc but am running a set of 35/12.50/15 Pro Comp Xterrain alloy wheels/tyres. Are these too big and should I buy some 8 spoke wheels with 265/75/16 Insa Turbo Dakar's ? It's hurting me to have to do it, but is this pain for gain...

So 235/85/16 stand 32 inches high yes? 85% of 235mm = 200mm = 8 inches. 8 inches x 2 + 16 = 32. Answered my own question now
