Thanks Data, the zennor diode is a blocking diode and should be part of the diode pack so hopefully if this alternator is the same lay out as the old Lucas B series alternator it will be a bolt in fitment. Alan

Checked mine, all ok, parking and operating ok. Did get a spark again yesterday when reconnecting, both fuses for radio/sat nav removed prior. Had a look at the alternator to see if it had a plug, but it looks like the cables are bolted so couldn't unplug and do a reconnect test. Alan

+1 it does sound like a CV joint on the drivers side if it is only when turning right. Used to get CV's knocking out all the time with the old Mini's.

Just take both parts off the car, a good auto electrical shop should be able to match the length and fittings, if not they should be able to make you up a lead. Alan

Mine did the same. The cause was disconnecting the battery so it just needed a reset. If you push the tilt button in and hold it in for 20 seconds the sunroof will open in tilt just a shade further and stop. The rest is complete and it will then auto close and level out with the roof line. Alan
