well i sorted it. it was a loose connection on the plug to the stepper motor. so i bought a new sleeve bit that turns round and locks the plug in place and its fine now. it was showing low volts on the red wire so when i pushed the plug upwords it got a stronger voltage. so i taped the wires up...
