So a 4.6 is a 4.0 with a longer stroke but will still have the thin walls just like the 4.0? so still could have the block/liner/headgasket problem then? :) Flipin hek theres no chance for us with the petrol engines then. DOOOOOMED

Im looking at a Range Rover. 2.5 dse and wanted to know from the diesel owners of the most comon faults to look for in terms of the diesel and not the petrol, i think i know all the petrol faults but the diesel engine not, its the BMW engine what do i need to listen for? what do i need to look...

Went to one last month with a wet drivers carpet and yes the Becm was damp inside and yes he was getting all sorts of false readings.

Only 200 miles away then, :)

Dito James...:) Just read a few of your posts and it looks like your going round and round and just trusting the Land Rover mechanic who seems a little unsure where to spend your money next...kick him into touch and get the faults read.

Is there a arm from the handle to the latch inside the door? sounds like the clip has poped off, not too sure on door workings. :)

Maf sensor...coil pack...air filter...park up open bonnet in dark rev engine and look for ht lead shorting out. :)

Dont tell me you post one end of the cable to your customer and use the other end at home to set up the Range rover :D:D:D, thats some lead:)

I have a tester to check if the fob is sending a signal. so if the led is duff but still sending a signal ill know, pluss i could check the input into the Becm for a voltage change every time the buttons are pressed. then theres the old "use my eyes" to be sure as you say the batterys are in...

Im down Barwell Monday, Diesel 2.5 locked out Becm , 3 miles from you. could pop round and take a look.

Where are you located? odd both Fobs not working, bet one will work with a little TLC :)
