If the matrix itself is leaking it is only necessary to feel the underneath of the concertina tubing, with even a small leak it will be wet to touch. (IMHO)

Don't like the idea of unleaded and what it might do. If you have cured the fault why not be patient, a small amount of oil floating about wont do any damage.
