I believe Magnatec is part synthetic. I think turbos need fully synthetic.

Do only 2k miles with plenty of cotton wool and you might be get away with a V6. I don't think you want to do more than 5k miles a year with one.

Unfortunately I haven't any copied keys, Timpson's realised I would not pay £7 a time for a key that would not work and kept them. Mean old bunch aren't they?

The normal key is ok, I have demonstrated this many times to Timpsons when their key wont turn!

IIRC the V6 matrix is the same as fitted to the TD4. They just seem to fail more often on V6's! 18 months ago a matrix from LR was just under £200, the problem was the cost of fitting - with the matrix some £500/£600. It's a pity I don't know where our V6 ended for breakiing - it had a brand new...

What surprises me Nodge is that the possibly biggest supplier of spare keys in the UK, ie Timpsons, cannot after two attempts produce a key that although it will enter the lock it will not turn it.

Just over a year ago and some 5k miles I cleaned my filthy EGR valve before disconnecting it's vacuum supply. When changing a turbo hose today I was able to see the EGR innards - they are spotless! Its nice to think such a simple mod is preventing all that muck building up.

I would think you are even more mad about the missing wheel caps, I know I would be. I suppose they will be on ebay soon.
