Freelander 1 Spare Wheel - Cover or not?

Does not make much different either way. All I can think of is... Some claim that the sun's UV light will damage the spare tyre's rubber after many summers, but the 4 main tyres in use are exposed to the sun anyway. Although the 4 main ones are mostly covered by wheel arches and the ground...

Freelander 1 Can interior lights be changed?

Yeah, neither did I, it wasn't until when I wanted to switch it off one night, that I found out there was no OFF switch. I figure since most people could buy aftermarket parts, maybe there would be a unit that could replace the standard one.

Freelander 1 Can interior lights be changed?

Well, surely there may be third party aftermarket parts? Surely some other company make some interior light unit? If not, okay, guess I'll have to see what else there is. As for the IRD failure, I'm aware of it and have heard of it, my decision to have all my tyres of same brand and age wasn't...

Freelander 1 Can interior lights be changed?

I know there is no OFF switch on the interior lights as standard. I just wanted to know if the unit could be changed for another unit that have one. I assume maybe like with so many Land Rover aftermarket parts, maybe there could be one, or not. Removing the bulbs is not an option for me. But I...

Freelander 1 Can interior lights be changed?

I had a Ford Focus, it used to have an OFF switch for the interior lights, so if I open door, lights stay off. Now I have a 05 register Freelander. The interior lights don't have an OFF switch. Can the Freelander's interior lights be changed for one that have an OFF switch? Either a DIY job or...

Keep the freelancer or change to discovery

Are you sure you want to go through the "paperwork"? You know, like filling in forms, informing DVLA, informing car insurance, making sure you tax the new car, reading the manual to familiar yourself with the Sport, the through and stress of paperwork, all just for changing cars when you said "I...

Tyre storage, is my storage correct?

Nuts to the spiders, they'll to find somewhere else to go when November comes and it is time for me to change to winter wheels. :-)

Tyre storage, is my storage correct?

No problem for me, as you can see from my photo, all brick wall and no windows, so no sunlight and its UV for my tyres. :-) Actually the door is open so I could take the photo, once closed, it is totally dark.

Tyre storage, is my storage correct?

Ah, so tyres dislike a cold concrete just like we dislike a bare kitchen floor. Oh, got it, will get it sorted out, find some "slippers" for the tyres. :-) Many thanks.

Tyre storage, is my storage correct?

Ah, I always thought it was the kerb that is a tyre's greatest enemy, and that we try to keep our tyre's sidewalls away from the kerb. Right, okay so to look after the tyre's side wall, I have to get it off the concrete. Okay, thanks. To everyone: Thanks for the advance about keeping tyres off...

Tyre storage, is my storage correct?

Guys, you're talking about using sheets or plywood under the tyres to keep it off the concrete. Is there a reason for getting the tyres off the concrete? What's wrong with concrete?

Tyre storage, is my storage correct?

Okay. Will get one of those PVC sheets (I assume you do meant one of PVC sheets we use for covering up the floor when doing painting?) and then will put it under the tyres. I guess, looks like I'll be doing more weight lifting with tyres, taking each one off so I can put the sheet there, then...

Tyre storage, is my storage correct?

Oh? Is it really important to do that? Can I do that like in a week or two, as soon as I get some? Are you talking about like a whole flat board (like one big chess board) or like beams? (Like putting model kit wheels on two matchsticks?) PS: Is there a reason for keeping it off the concrete?

Tyre storage, is my storage correct?

Opps!! Should have edited the photo to a smaller one! Sorry about that. Next time I'll make sure I watch the image size. Update: I have managed to scale down the photo to a suitable size and uploaded the replacement.

Tyre storage, is my storage correct?

I had changed my wheels, putting the summer tyres back on my Freelander, and the winter tyres into storage. The tyres I use for the winter is GF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO 2. I have an outdoor store room, as you can see from the photo, all brick, no windows, can't recall the temperature during...

You may find some Land Rovers in a number of British based or set in Britain movies and television shows. There's The Professionals. But not sure if any Land Rovers were used, been years since I last watched it. Lovejoy. A Range Rover is used a lot by Lady Jane. The New Avengers. Two Range...

Brake disc & fluid, which is best done first?

2005 Freelander TD4. But this posting is really about brakes, so figure to post in General Forum. Bought EBC discs and pads online. Had local tyre and brake garage to replace them. Drove and found brakes to feel soft. Reported this to them, they test drive and confirmed it. One of their guys...

Freelander, dipped and main beam, use same bulb?

Thanks, but I have already been there. That's why I was surprised to find that the main and dipped beams use same bulb type (H7 model) as well as most of the bulbs needed for the rear being mostly 380 or 382 models. I thought it was odd, as I could have sworn that the main and dipped beam use...
