 Sorry can't get into for sale bit! I've got a series roof (swb) that needs a finishing piece to link the top skin to the back down section (the bit that sits above the door), it looks like its had a new skin fitted by cutting down a longer roof, i don't need it as it was part of a...

    Another silly one

I was wondering if it could be blanked off and a recovery ring put through it? it would have the extra support of the cylinder making the hole so should be stronger than straight through the crossmember like most tow ball fittings? Or is this just another of my stupid ideas? I'm pretty good at them!

    In cab electrics

i've just done some additional wiring for my series 3, put a 4 cig lighter socket (halfords), fog lights and interior light 'borrowed' from the local TA through some new switches mounted to the dask. Plus an extra switch for anything else i might think of. Took a feed from the power running up...

    A Dead Land Rover 2a

I had a bad short circuit in my series 3 which meant it wouldn't start, turned out to be a dodgy connection from the ignition to the coil thingy, i added an extra wire from the ignition and ran it to the same place on the coil leaving the old wire in place too, it started then, don't know if...

Should be working but...Rear recovery points on a series?

I've been asked if i'd like to do a bit of offroading, durrr YES! But i've not got any rear recovery points, does any one have any suggestions? Would a D ring that fits the front bumper fit the back through the x-member? Or would a tow ball be a better option? Anyone done anything different...

Mild panic! Unleaded fuel in series 3 1982

Just read the post on unleaded fuel, i have a series 3 1982 (x) that was running on unleaded when i got it earlier in the year. Is there any way i can check that the engine has actually had the correct modifications needed to run unleaded, it hasn't had any problems yet, but i'd prefer it...

    Hello from wolverhampton

Hello everyone! Not long had my first land rover (swb series 3) already found lots of useful hints! Was just wondering if anyone else has had gear box oil come from what appears to be the top of the gearbox? Any ideas what it could be? Thanks:D
