    P38 under powered and overheating

Overheating - air lock / stuck thermostat / knackered water pump / head gasket failure / block failure / slipped liner Lack of power - not enough fuel / low compression Overheating AND lack of power - probable head gasket failure which could also give you low compression on one or more...

    EKA Lockout help.

That doesn't sound right somehow. The EKA code is recognised by microswitches in the door lock. I can't see how the BeCM would damage those although I could see it damaging the motor if it was being permanently driven. Maybe the BeCM just wasn't recognising the the signals from the door lock.

    P38 - Door of doom

No, door has to be able to be opened as P38 says above. Straight fail item I'm afraid. But even so, it still gives you time to have a go at it after the test if that's all it fails on.

Looking at the diagrams in Rave: Pink & Red (pin 7) goes to splice 214 and then to the cruise control ECU, HEVAC, BECM & connector C0229/0067 where it splits to the ABS ECU and the Engine ECU (and becomes just Pink). Light Green & Red (Pin 15) goes to splice 213 and then to the HEVAC, BECM &...

    Arnott EAS Parts

Supposedly, the shape of the original bags and the cones that compress them were designed to give a soft ride on the road but a firm ride when extended for off road. I believe the Gen 111 bags operate in the reverse - firmer ride on road for better handling and softer ride when extended off...

P38 Brake Light Failure messages when towing.

As there are no fuses in any of the lighting circuits, the BeCM detects both overloads and 'underloads' and will give the warning on the dash. I think yours is due to the high level brake lights on the caravan too.

    p38 suspension

They are but if you're out and about with no laptop or EAS kicker, then they can be a lifesaver. I have mine tee'd in and they've got me home from Scotland to Blackburn. You just have to remember that, if you have a hard fault, blow them up with the engine running and the handbrake off. If you...

    2006 range rover suspension fault

You could try Crook Brothers at Hoghton. He has an older P38 himself so he's well versed in their foibles. Also has the diagnostics.

Nothing working on drivers door p38

Does the central locking work (both ways) if you press the bobber down on the drivers door? If it does, you could have a problem with either the fob or RF receiver. If it doesn't or only either locks or unlocks but not both, you have a duff microswitch in the door lock. If that's the case...

Thinking About Upgrading My P38DSE for Td6 L322

The front diff problems were because they didn't use a UJ. The shaft just went straight into the diff. The recall was to fit one. Not sure about the steering column although it rings a bell. Electrical maladies are quite common, especially with water getting into the infotainment system located...

    P38 Electric problem.

There were three variants altogether. I think an 01 plate would have the Mk2 version. You need the Mk3. If you buy one, DON'T buy one from Ebay. Unsrupulous buggers on there sell the old ones masquerading as new ones. You can't readily tell one from another as there's no part numbers printed on...

    p38 overheating

I'll go with Mr Armstrong there - air lock or knackered water pump. Are you getting water coming out of the small tube that goes into the header tank? If so, the pump is probably OK. However, did you make sure this tube was clear before you bled the system? If there was coolant in this tube, it...

    P38 DSE Overheating (yet another)

There has been a few other threads on this in the past where it's been found that recon radiators don't have the baffle in the top. Without this, the coolant will go straight through the top of the radiator and out again. With the baffle there, it's forced down and through the radiator and hence...
