Thank you all for the replies, but what I am trying to fix is the trap door thing at the sunroof. The liner there came off and the material seems to be some sort of plywood. The question was if I have take off the whole ceiling to work on it.

Adjusted valve clearance on the 300TDi today... valves 7 and 8 were a few millimeters off! It sounds much better now but I still have to change the vacuum pump and go through the valves again at some point since they were so far off.

D1 Fixed the glow plugs not working by disconnecting and reconnecting the relay. I had it in at the workshop for an injection pump change as it was leaking and it would start very difficult. It doesn't leak anymore and starts better but still not quite there. They blamed it in the glow plugs...
