    Disconnect the sensor in the airbox, If it fails, it seems to restrict the turbo boost to 1 bar I did mine, and what a difference, never replaced it, they're pretty dear, but no ill-effects at all ( or engine management lights either) cheers

    If received faulty, send it back If you screwed it up, whip it out and get an engineering shop to dress or recut the threads I wouldnt weld it, the heat will probably bugger the seals at the very least cheers

    Huge vibration and wobble at 60

    Check engine mounts, There is a small hole in the bottom of them, slide a 6mm drill bit into it, should go in 10 mm or so, any less, (say 2 - 3 mm) and they're scrap, they're oil filled, so you may see wetness About £40 each, and easy to do on the floor, although a helper is handy

    I get my 14 year old skinny son to do it, Or, step ladder on one side, a scaffold plank across the ladder to another set of steps, and work off that, I would advise against offering a 14 year old boy sweets to come and wash your car though!!

    Hi All, I have to replace a couple of core plugs in a TD5 engine, Thing is, the last time I fitted core plugs was in a Chevette, in about 1986! I cant remember what sealant to use, either red hermetite, green hermetite, or blue hylomar. Can someone refresh my memory please Thanks...

    You'll have no probs, just dont be hard on the throttle I ran my D1 for years without it, all i noticed was that the rear propshaft rubber coupling wore out sooner than normal All the drive though one shaft i suppose cheers

    Re engine mounts, i replaced them too last year I dropped the belt, there is a tiny bit of movement in the damper pulley, approx 1mm fore and aft I didnt think to run the car with it off. I did ring my local independant dealer, just to see how many they sell, to be told that they cant get...

    I'll drop the belt and have a feel at it. I plan to do the injector seal and washers as a preventative thing, so i think i;ll clean the inlet plenum and intercooler too. Its becoming personal now, the door lock buttons even vibrate, i would dearly love to find it, as its really is driving...

    Thanks Guys @Musky, never though of that, 140,000 miles. Is that the sort of time you would expect one to go? ecus and wires are fine, i had replaced the injector loom about 3 months ago, it was ok then, it was ok then as when i got the car, i cleaned it, and then smudged rtv gasket sealer...
