    Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure the tappets are hydraulic, so unless one has failed they should be OK I'll do a compression test and hope it's not cylinder 5! Thanks again :-)

    Well worth it A rear section, two legs and a cross member is around 300 quid. Plus labour of course, which would include removing the fuel tank and chopping the crappy part away Few guys on here have done it
