Helps if people know what it is!

    Question regarding fuel consumption

DMF could also = desperate mother ****er. If you're in the hood, innit (helps if you have a p38 decked on 26 inch chrome spinners to pull it off properly)

Broken drill bit in cylinder head.

One of the guys on a bike forum I go on had the same problem (spark plug in head), used a reverse thread stud extractor and all was good to go again

Broken drill bit in cylinder head.

You'd have a hard time for it the jam the crankshaft unless you have a hole in the piston? Plus if there was swarf in the cylinder you could have ****ed the bore by running it. Do you have much mechanical experience? Unless you do sounds like you should quit now! Someone will buy it off you...

    1st Time Owner Question

Have you checked it's not the battery? If it is you could literally be sitting on a time bomb.

My header tank exploded into 1000 bits!!

Have they taken the stat out to mask a cooling system problem? If it doesn't heat up fully wont it affect fuel consumption too?

    xenon headlights on a p38

Are the whole headlights HID or just the bulb/ballast kit? Spoke to a seller of HID kits and he says they fail the MOT anyway because of the effect it has on the beam pattern and have to be changed to standard bulbs come test time (not to mention self levelling/washer legality stuff)

    Lowering suspension

I'd be slightly worried if OEM parts weren't standard parts- it stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer Although I suppose they could possibly make stuff in different specs too maybe

    Gaylander killed by pothole

How the **** they managed that I'll never know unless they were sideways at the time, even my lupo would transverse that 'massive crater' I reckon

Range rover 2003 front and rear brake discs

It's just a coating that wears off in no time to protect the discs a lot seem to have it these days. The unswept areas will remain gold though til the dust and general road filth coats them (I'd give it a week)

    Immobilizer bypass or repair ?

Only if it gets nicked and recovered in one piece though, if you have a shunt it shouldn't matter or someone twoc's and torches it they'd never know in theory.

    p38 reliability

with a lot of cars though that is true with routine servicing a lot of stuff will just soldier on til the body gives out. I think people fail to remember that a rangie, like any specialist or performance car needs a bit more tlc than the average eurobox due to it's nature. Plus the build quality...

    Question regarding fuel consumption

Dual mass flywheel. Not cheap to replace. Unless it stands for other things too lol.

    Bulkhead, What Next?

    Nicely done mate

    Wheel and tyres sizes

Wouldn't you want massive but narrow wheels so there's less road friction and travels further per revolution? Could look quite errrm interesting...

    Clock losing time

Time issues in a car? First port of calls gotta be the flux capacitor I reckon

Lowering ride height on 90/110 chassis

Hats of to you if you go for it for being different but I'd personally say if you're going to that effort it might be best to start from scratch with a chassis to meet your requirements

    2 post car lift?

Anywhere that's flat and solid on the chassis. No disrespect intended but if you don't know where to lift it should you really be getting underneath and working on it?
  19. M

MOT Fail on too much welding.

That's crap. Provided the chassis is repaired properly and solidly each time I don't see how they can fail it as long as it maintains it's structural integrity

    Defender Calipers- replace or rebuild?

The only reason I said I find bleeding the most tedious part is because compared to refurb-ing the calipers it is so dull, not hard at all! I use the eeze-bleed kit too btw ;)
