Or better still, remove the rear prop from the brake drum, and remove brake drum, remove the brake shoes and then dismantle, clean and apply grease to the mechanism on the back plate. Then reassemble.
To get back to the OP's original question  I have fitted lap belts to the rear of my 110. I used the seat belts from the side facing seats from a Discovery 1. I drilled a hole through the bottom of the seatbox behind the seat bases and used M12 bolts with nylock nuts bolted through...
Under normal use, vented discs make absolutely no difference to braking performance. The only advantage they have over solids discs, is that they cool down quicker, but unless you are racing, or driving like a total f**kwit, you should not be getting anywhere near to overheating your standard...
I like Ramsey winches. I had one on my previous landy, and have a Rep8000 on my current 110. Plenty of pulling power and very reliable, even works when fully submerged in mud :D Not the quickest winch though, but I don't need a fast winch, just a reliable one.
I understand now. Forgot about the TD5  That hole is for mounting the socket, but the problem is that fitting it there is a bugger. Quite often the plug won't fit through the hole in the back of the crossmember, and you have to drill mounting hole yourself.
I assume you are talking about a series vehicle rather than a 110/Defender here. That hole is actually for connecting a rear PTO to the transfer box, so there are not any holes for mounting your trailer socket there. Personally, I would use a standard socket mounting plate, and drill the rear of...
Technically it is not a replica Desert eagle, but a Jericho 941, also known as the Baby Eagle, produced by Israeli Military Industries in the late 90's. You can tell the difference by the shorter barrel length and the Weaver rail on the bottom. They were also only chambered for the 9mm Luger or...
No, hydraulic clutch is not adjustable. I have always bought complete kits when replacing my clutch, they come with friction plate, cover & release bearing, like this. DA5550G | Valeo Clutch Kit for TD5 (plate, cover and release bearing)
PAS belt or pump. When the steering is at full lock, the system is at it's highest pressure and the pump is under the most stress. Tightening the PAS belt should stop it, if not, your pump may be on it's way out.
Is the vehicle you have a Hardtop or a Station Wagon? I suspect it is the former, in which case, simply ading seats to it won't change that. Whether it is classed as an estate or utility (commercial) is down to the information on the VIN plate. If it is plated as a utility, then it cannot be...
My personal choice is a 5D Maglite with side handle. I also have a decent LED head torch, and a couple of compact LED hand torches. The problem with LED's is that the light they give off has a very short wavelength, which means that the light they emit can be very intense, but it scatters very...
Confused, you said you need to paint the whole of the back door, but then ask if you should paint the whole door or just the bit that needs painting:confused:
This is becoming almost as bad as "What tyre?" posts. If you have a search, you will find that the general recommendation is to go for a 2nd hand winch from the likes off Warn, Superwinch, Ramsey etc, than a cheap, no-name Chinese one.
My engine mods haven't made a huge difference to max bhp. It is running around 200 bhp, which is about 13 bhp more than a stock 3.9 with EFI. But the biggest difference is torque in the midrange. It now feels like a big diesel, but will keep pulling to around 5500 rpm. :)
