How many does L314 have engine mounts?

There are 2 mounts, and 1 torque reaction bar.

    Crank no start

Is the battery suitable for the vehicle? The Freelander 2 is very power hungry, so needs a battery that is up to the task. Hazards coming on suggest the battery voltage has dropped below 8 Volts, which puts the vehicle into crash mode. The HDC warning on the dash also only appears with a failing...

Was the correct gearbox fluid used?

FL2 Drivers side Window switch fault

It needs a full systems code reader. They can be bought from £100 to several £100. The Freelander is a Ford Mondeo underneath the LR body, so any decent garage should have suitable diagnostic equipment these days, or buy your own and save the garage bills.

FL2 Drivers side Window switch fault

With electrical faults on the FL2, getting the codes read is the first thing to do. The whole vehicle is controlled by computers, so that's the place to start. All door electrical functions are controlled by the door modules, so if there's a total failure of controlled items, the module is the...

What have you done to your Freelander today

I used to run my fronts at 33 and the rears at 34. I'd not go more than that though, as it had a tendency to understeer when I tried 35 on the front.

What have you done to your Freelander today

My oil cooler failed, filled the coolant with engine oil. That definitely floated on the coolant though. Maybe give it another flush?

    Freelander 2

It'll be a split boost hoses as suggested above. Check the short hose below the throttle body, which is a common failure point on these.

Freelander TD4 with 66k valuation please.

Also where it is in the country makes a difference to the value, and the time of year it's up for sale. Freelanders tend to get more money in winter, and less in summer.

TD4 white smoke and misfiring @ 2000 rpm

That's something different to the normal 2k misfire. I'd suggest injectors, or maybe a corroded rail sensor.

TD4 white smoke and misfiring @ 2000 rpm

Disconnect the PCV connection at the turbo intake, and allow it to vent to the atmosphere. The plug the hole in the turbo intake to prevent air bypassing the MAF. Then see if the 2k misfire still happens. My theory is it won't, but I'd like to have the proven or disproven. The BMW mod was for...

TD4 white smoke and misfiring @ 2000 rpm

If by upgraded mod you mean the BMW cyclone separater, then it's not an upgrade at all, just a way of eliminating 1 more item from the maintenance chart. The cotton reel filter is much better at capturing oil, which would otherwise pass to the intake system. The cyclone separater allows more oil...

TD4 white smoke and misfiring @ 2000 rpm

I reckon it was something to do with the crankcase vent causing contamination of the intake air. I didn't check for this, and sold the vehicle when the gearbox failed and the FL2 came along.

    Thread chasing VCU spline shaft

To be honest, if the thread is anything more than slightly damage for the first couple of threads, I'd scrap the VCU. They're plentiful and pretty cheap now.

Freelander Mk1 Cooling fan Control module circuit diagram

I doubt you'll find the actual circuit diagram for the module, LR don't show it. You'll be working blind to fix it, but if you break the circuit into sections, and test the components in each section, you might get lucky. Presumably you've checked all the fuses in the vehicle before condemning...

    HDC Wires - Freelander 1999

It's just a switch, so doesn't matter one bit. The switch joins the 2 wires together when the HDC is activated

Sad news. I like those old bimmers.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Did you start the engine to purge out the air? Or lift the front wheels with the engine off, turning the steering lock to lock 10 times while checking the fluid level? The latter is the correct procedure, which reduces the chance of air getting trapped in the pump variable displacement...
