    Defender Plastic A Bar

I'm not to fussed about it being genuine, just the same design. Either i'm missing something or finding info or any suppliers isn't very easy! This is what Rebel sell, the pic isn't really detailed enough to compare to the equally low resolution pictures of new landys.

    Defender Plastic A Bar

Hi all, I have noticed the plastic A bars on the new Puma Defenders and would like to get one for my J reg 90. I was just seeking hoping for a little advice on where I might be able to get one. I appreciate there are probably expensive, but unless the price is ridiculous I would like to fit...

    Gauge for third hole!

I have seen later Defenders which have a classic clock in that hole. Dont know what one would cost and do you really want to be reminded that your running late everytime you look at the dash? If there was anyway of Defenders supporting it I think a rev counter would be a nice interesting choice.

Relay Wiring for Independent Lights etc

Well I can solder with difficulty and my soldering isn't fantastic (it all just keeps sticking to the iron) so I would not be one to know when I am using to much or too little heat and so I recon crimps are my best hope of making a good connection. I am using a ratchet crimp tool so my...

Relay Wiring for Independent Lights etc

Have the 110 outside now. Having a look at whats what. Will see where the wiring to the fuse box comes in from and see if I can push a wire through. Otherwise will look at the steering column. The truck is super tidy inside so I don't think loose surface cabling is the order of the day. Got to...

Relay Wiring for Independent Lights etc

Hi all, Yes crimp connectors are all I have. I wouldn't mind getting some solder connectors. Would those also be the correct size pins to fit the factory installed wiring connectors? I agree that is a good plan but it is just a matter of where to connect the switch. I guess you could connect...

Relay Wiring for Independent Lights etc

Cheers for the reply. I didn't realise the relay limited the switch current. I have cable in 1mm, 2mm, 3mm and 4.5mm square sizes so using the correct size shouldn't be a problem. I just need to find out what ratings the bulbs are to choose the cable. I expect 3.0mm2 will do since that is...

Relay Wiring for Independent Lights etc

Hi all, I am wiring in some additional lights on a friends 110 which are to be completely separate from the existing lighting circuits. I am planning to wire them as in the diagram I have carefully drawn in Paint and attached to this post. I have basically copied the wiring from...

    Hardtop conversion

I do use the tow bar so will keep it on and will be careful about dropping the tail gate. I intend to keep a canopy on the back but think any other temporary structures could be crafted to fit. Last year someone made a makeshift fireworks launcher for their pickup.

    Hardtop conversion

In that case i'll be gentle with it. I knew they got battered but didn't know it really weakened them. Since it is second hand it will already be quite dented but I will endeavour to look after it and keep the new paint work in as gooder condition as Treweys one in his pics.

    Hardtop conversion

The 2 piece does look a good compromise and is something I have never seen before. There is something I love about rough and ready pickups and that is the type of back I think fits my way of doing things best. In keeping with the pickup tradition, I can assure you the tail gate will be...

    Hardtop conversion

Recently I have been wanting to move some quite large objects in the Landy and have found the back door a complete PITA both for fitting stuff in it and also for keeping on shutting on me even on pretty level surfaces. Also I have to admit I think pickups look cool and i'm putting an Ifor...

    Hardtop conversion

Thanks for the reply. A pic would be very helpful if you are able to get one. Thankfully the folks I am buying the cab from said it would be OK for me to fit it in their yard so I should be able to retrieve any necessary bits as required. I hope that also means that if some big drilling and...

    Hardtop conversion

Thanks for the reply. That pic of the "handle" was taken from the rear compartment, but I noticed in the in photos athe threaded rod and plate to secure the wheel. So I guess I should leave the handle thing on and try to find the rest of the assembly from the donor vehicle? My main concern is...

    Hardtop conversion

Hello all, I own a 1992 Defender 90 and I have had it for about a year now. At some stage earlier in its life it looks to have been converted to a hard top. This is fairly obvious since the hard top section is a different colour which has been resprayed. I am converting the truck back to a...
