cheers guys i will get all that done to be on the safe side and by the looks of it the oil does not look contaminated with water.

i've got mine off the road at the mo aswell as boot floor and inner arches also need doing. this may seem like a stupid question to some but do you need to support the body once you've cut out the crappy sills? how much did it cost you to make up those box sections?

looking good so far paul d,my sills are the same and im in the process of looking around for replacements,cant wait to see how it turns out.think you might of given me a few ideas. here's some pics of mine.

i was going to do the work myself but i proberly will take it to a garage and get them to have a good look and do all the tests/work thats required to get it up and running.

cheers jonathan i was thinking its a head gasket :mad2:. with regards to the coolant level if i open the top when cold i.e the following morning then loads of air and gurgling happens and level seems to rise to correct level if opened when hot (engine off) then it spits water and air out and if...

cheers goonarmy i'll give that ago. well i cant get the video's to work but when i have the lid off the expansion tank the water bubbles and has what looks like fumes coming out out. when left idling there isn't much smoke but when you give it some revs theres alot off smoke.

i've got a 200tdi and a couple of weeks ago got stuck in standon ford,the water came upto the exhaust and i got towed out backwards well since that incident i've had alot of smoke from the exhaust and at one point on my way home that day the temp went up 3/4 and warning light flashing pulled...

it wasn't me it was the disco honest lol,well i have learnt my lesson now so nothing like that will be happening again trust me.

i didn't hit the water hard at all,i basically just crawled in then it went dead :confused:

thats what we should plan then,just need to get my disco sorted now otherwise i wont be going anywhere.
