    Wipers

And check the grub screw whilst you're at it, mine were loose as fooook. And two weekends ago on Salisbury plains the arm fell off the splines. Luckily I managed to recover it and put it back on. :)

    Another bloody bodge.

Test between the positive and and earth, without anything connected to the battery. I once had a battery that self-leaked, apparently not uncommon.

    Steering wheel cancel pegs?

Thanks for this. My indicators don't cancel properly either. Left cancels before turning, and right not at all. And instead of saying arrow to point at passenger, maybe saying that it should point at the indicator stalk is more appropriate? :) Anyhoo, thanks!

extended wheel arch kit advse required

Yeah, aaronmorris is correct. The filler would expand like teenagers spot and eventually fall out. When you put extended wheel arches on something like an escort MkII you first pop rivet the arches onto the body, then you glass fibre them on, then you drill out the pop rivets and glass fibre...

Excellent and well done on keeping (making) it mint. Mine just had a mot and whilst it wasn't bad, it did have a few advisories. :)

No need to apologise! All input is appreciated, your comment underlines the fact that a dry car is important - and I value that. :)

Schutz gun cleaning and general wax tips.

Waxoil can trap moisture underneath it. Can you get it under some sort of cover and get it as dry as possible before you start. It needs to be as dry as you can get it !!! Yeah, obviously, a a totally dry car would be ideal. And I wouldn't spray any wax onto a wet surface, but the Dinitrol...

Schutz gun cleaning and general wax tips.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Very much appreciated. I guess I just need to get on with it and see how it goes. I'll be covering myself, including my hands, face, hair, etc. And I'll put down a tarp, under the car, that I pretty much expect to be thrown away afterwards. I had a look at the...

Best way to fill these holes???

It depends on how well you want to do the job. Washers and nuts might suffice. Pop rivets might. Plastic plugs might. Or get them welded - it can be done, but, but. Or machine some alu plugs and bond (glue) them in from the underside. Now what sort of seats did you remove from the back? I'm...

Schutz gun cleaning and general wax tips.

Hey, I bought a Dinitrol kit. It came with outside wax and inside wax. And a Schutz-gun and some plastic plugs. The idea is to coat the underside of the defender and the inside of the chassis rails and the bulkhead (and anything else I can think of). I've need done anything like this before...
