When you say a new compressor, do you mean brand new or just an alternative one? Why not just rebuild the one you have? I bought a kit that does the compressor and valve block for about £50.

As an alternative, and if you wanted to wire them up outside of the becm (ie using relays attached to the headlight circuits) you could make a switch out of the body of a hazard switch or cruise switch (which are latching) and the top of a fog light switch (for the correct type of graphic).
