Quick Valve block rebuild query - collets?

Having acquired some collets (thanks Kurt), I just want to check how to fit them. I can't quite work it out from the pictures and diagrams that I've come across and given that I didn't take them out in the first place (my valve block is still on the vehicle), I want to avoid cocking it up...

    Land-Rovers-new-concept-car

They do. That shape only really worked on the Evoque and I'm not really sure I like that any more either. The new Rangie looks ugly and nothing special. This proposed new Disco is more of the same squashed looking ugliness. I can't help thinking LR have lost their way a bit with their current...

    Airbags to Springs whats required?

Sounds like your garage don't know what they're doing. I hope they're not LR specialists. Did they even do a cursory check for leaks? The problem is that lack of maintenance can cause a number of problems that can accumulate and play off eachother. You may well have had a leaky valve block, but...

Brilliant. Thanks for that both of you! Guy

Quick Valve block rebuild query - collets?

Yes, I had noticed that but I can't find anyone else that sells them. Are they the correct bits though, just out of interest?

Quick Valve block rebuild query - collets?

Hi All, I bought a 2nd hand valve block to rebuild a while ago and whilst replacing all of the O rings, I noticed that all of the airline collets were missing. I know I could just pull them out of my existing block when I swap it over, but I'd prefer to have it all as ready to swap over...

Can i remove the catalytic material inside catalytic?

That might be what's wrong with mine. Simpler to just replace them.

    oh dear......

I thought the 4.6 and the later models with 4 wheel traction control required 4 pin?

    Suspension height calibration blocks.

Island 4x4 do them for £125 +VAT. Lend them to me when you're done!

    do I, dont I? p38 to l32

I'm umming and ahhing about the same thing as I'm pretty sure mine is going to need an engine sooner rather than later and they're really not cheap on a P38! In fact I can buy a L322 on lpg for about the same price as an engine change (one that will last more than 5 minutes anyway). I like...

Can i remove the catalytic material inside catalytic?

I'm pretty sure the internals of my cats have been removed at some point in the past and it sounds crap - hard to describe the sound, but it's not pleasant. I've bought a spare set to put on it now.

    Front Sensor Fitting

Just found an interesting thread on RR.net about the calibration blocks. Some people make them from hardwood apparently... I see that Island4x4 list them but with POA....

    Front Sensor Fitting

Perfect price for someone to buy them and rent them out then! I seem to recall that any old material would do - ie steel rod. Surely very little time on a lathe to machine them (not that I've touched one since my schooldays). Hmm...

    Front Sensor Fitting

I'm about to do the same to mine - I can't see how the initial height would matter but would possibly err more towards a middle of the road height as a starting point maybe to try and avoid an out of range error straight off. It'd be nice if somewhere rented those height blocks (or sold some...

    Radiator return snapped off!

My return pipe had been previously snapped off and bodged when I bought mine a few years ago now. It lasted for a few years before it eventually exploded fairly spectacularly. It had been bodged with some sort of copper radiator fitting and epoxy. I got a new radiator from Island 4x4 in...

    Hevac - New edition....

Sounds interesting. I'd be tentatively interested too... Any more info on the EAS system? That could certainly be interesting... (Did I overuse the word interesting in this post?)

    Wheel Fitting

I think they might have come from an L322. How do I tell? Not that I care really but might be something for the OP to be aware of.

You sure? My Hurricanes needed spigot rings.

    Spring conversion on L322 2002

Surely the removal of the EAS will stop it being a 'bloody good tow truck' now that it won't be able to self level. Does trade insurance really allow you to modify your vehicle to a potentially dangerous degree without declaring it? Wow.
