How disappointing - EAS valve block

It's only dropped an inch or so at the rear over a week. I don't think that's too bad, but I might have another go at the rear airbag connections when I get a chance. It's on levelish ground. A bit of a slope with the back being slightly downhill.

    EAS Specialist Salisbury Area PLEASE

Bit confused by this. So it's going into soft fault mode but not reporting a fault? Maybe it's not in soft fault mode and something is making it think that you want it to go to extended height (ie a stuck switch or dodgy connection). It sounds a bit unlikely though, especially as you've...

How disappointing - EAS valve block

Quick update. Got back last night and the front is perfect, but the rear has dropped a bit - just enough to look a bit stupid. Access to the airpipes on the rear bags was always a complete git so I think I can live with this for the time being!!

    Air con condenser install problems

Is there a brand of condenser that does actually fit (other than OEM of course)!?

How disappointing - EAS valve block

The good news is that it's stayed up perfectly all night with the tailgate ajar so I'm guessing there must have been a slightly crushed o ring in that solenoid. Am away for a week or so now so will see what it's like when I get back. Thanks for all the advice. Guy

How disappointing - EAS valve block

Well I can't see anything wrong with the damn thing! Had the solenoid apart - can't see any problems with it at all - thought I might have left an o ring out or something. I haven't sanded it yet as you suggested Wammers, but that might come! No leaks that I can find on the airbag or the...

    Air Conditioning

These 'free' leak checks are all very well, but they only need to work for 5 minutes or so in order for it to be chargeable. Last time Kwik Fit did mine, it lasted until I got home.

How disappointing - EAS valve block

Fantastic. Thanks Saint - I had the first one from PaulP38's guide but not the second one. Looks like I should be able to do it in situ. I might just check the airbag first though as it does seem to go down quite quickly - I'd expect to be able to hear something from the solenoid but couldn't.

How disappointing - EAS valve block

Hi Keith, Yes, that was my thought too. Plus it will make it all messy and it's nice and shiny in there at the moment! I've yet to check the bag itself, but they're recent Arnotts so I'd think that would be unlikely. I think it's more likely that I cocked something up on the rebuild. I...

How disappointing - EAS valve block

Hi All. All fired up with enthusiasm, I fitted my nice shiny 'new' EAS box yesterday, containing my recently overhauled valve block and a brand new compressor. Early signs were encouraging - everything appeared to work, bar an initial leak due to an improperly seated pipe. Went for a...

    Insurance issues Springs or Air

I think people are missing the point a bit with these mods. Insurance companies don't really care unless they have to pay out and just because you're insured doesn't make it safe. Pretty sure that poor guy who rolled his Landy down an embankment a while ago with children inside thought his...

And they probably never will until there is a serious accident caused by someone putting their P38 on coils and it falling over at speed or otherwise misbehaving as a result.

how can i put the P38 4.6 engine working without BECM

I think Zen has just done this on his Classic that he's having fun with. Have a look in the engine section - pretty sure there's a thread on it.

I doubt that an MOT tester would be able or qualified to comment on the safety aspects of such modifications. That's what type approval is for (and I'm pretty sure that involves a lot more than a quick looksee!)

    EAS diagnostic software.

I downloaded it from there last week without any problem after it had mysteriously removed all trace of itself from the laptop I use for it! Glad I did. I'm surprised that Storey is charging so much for this new version given that the previous version was effectively free (although I hope...

Quick Valve block rebuild query - collets?

Thanks for that Paul. Yes, I remember your thread and was thinking of it this evening! I know one of my height sensors on the front is iffy at least, so that will be replaced as part of my overhaul. Will see what it does with the new valve block on and take it from there. I don't get...

    Insurance issues Springs or Air

Don't forget the issue of towing too. I have no idea what the towing capacity or behaviour would be like on springs, but I'm guessing that removing the self levelling feature of the EAS would cause interesting behaviour and certainly make what is currently a great towing vehicle into a mediocre...
